I was watching the Saints Best and Fairest on Fox Footy today and noticed Leigh Fisher accepting his award saying how he played 5 games in the VFL Reserves and another 10 in the VFL Seniors this year before being given a few senior games and I was wondering if there are any other players who have progressed so quickly from VFL Reserves to AFL level in a season?

Cameron Hunter would be another one who came from VFL Reserves to AFL this year.

Obviously David King from Collingwood was close this year from all reports.

It's good to see a few players getting AFL games after coming through from the VFL 2s.

Can anyone else add some more names?

VFL Reserves, Seniors, and AFL in the space of 3 games! ;) :D

Yeah, David Loats did exactly the same thing last year, rushed into the side for his senior debut against Essendon.

He then got injured and came back through the VFL again!

Lance Picioane played VFL reserves for a few games in 2000.

Ben Holland,Dragacivic and Andy Krakour all played reserves in the VFL this year, they just were simply not good enough for 1s :p .
Seriously though Marty Mcgrath came through the 2s for Coburg to seniors for Richmond.
