There are no TAC matches over the weekend 2/3 July so I'd imagine we'd be looking at around that week.

Would be very interested

Yes, Saturday June 25th to Sunday July 3rd. Includes a weekend of the AFL split round. No games at MCG. Saturday and Sunday games all at Optus Oval and midweek double header at Skilled Stadium.

Division 1 starts with South Australia v Vic Country then Vic Metro v Western Australia on June 26th.

Basically two months away from today they all begin.

Just found out Vic Country will do the small squad thing again. So my 48 will probably go to 25-30 I'll have another go later at culling a few.

Vic metro trial game on sometime over the 7/8th May. Bye week in TAC comp.

So with the 9 AIS guys in the squad does not leave many spots for others.
Presume will be picked soley on form thus far and not on rep?

Have seen a fair few matches involving the country teams this year and Sezzacs list looks pretty good.

Gippsland and Geelong should be well represented based on their early season form.

Will the initial group be picked with a team structure or just the better players not regarding team balance?

Just wondering what you think Josh Kennedy's chances of making the squad is? He has had 2 BOG in 4 weeks. I know he is bottom aged, will this count against him?

Wasn't it even smaller? Something like 15 in a 'training' squad and then only adding extra names before the trial match against Metro.

Certainly interesting the contrast. Metro going for 50 and having the intra-club practive matches. Country going smaller and not doing much before the match against Metro.

Hi Weaver.

I think there will be a few who make it into the initial Vic Metro Squad that shouldn't.

You mention Robertson (who I think has been 'barely just okay' ) as 'he'll make it but shouldn't'. I probably agree but If the squad is based on form then Andre Gianfagna (Northern) wouldn't get in the top 100 on his present form (unless he got 40 possessions this week that is . They are both ex AIS so will be interesting

I also probably agree about Tyquin but I bet he gets a look in.

Also I really think Sam Carpenter (Dandenong) deserves to be given a go on his current form. He has been sensational for the Stingrays and to miss out on the squad would be criminal, particularly if some other name player who has been poor so far, gets in before him.

As for Bendigo.....that an excellent question. I could quite easily leave them out and add 3 from Geelong but that would be very cruel. Weeks at least deserves a go even though he is to young to draft this year. He has been fighting a loan hand up forward.

For those that are interested Vic Country will train at 11:30am on Saturday 7th May then play a 2 quarter trial from 12:30.

Vic Metro will play a 4 quarter trial from 2pm.

Both 'games' will be held at Cramer St Preston.
