Then you must've been pretty disappointed when you drafted Natanui, seeing as Vickery towelled him up in the final doing "nothing special".

If by doing nothing special in the under 18 champs you mean that he was BOG in the under 18 championships final where he kicked 3 goals and comprehensively beat Nic Nat in the ruck then i agree with you.

He was noted by many as a top 5 pick.

It is said by many that Nic Nat was beaten by Vickery in the final.

Not to say one will be a better player than the other, Just trying to justify RFC selection of Vickery at number 8

Naita beat Vickery in the ruck, when Vickery went forward he did all his damage against some average W.A backs.

I just dont see why Vickery was even considered a first round draft pick. No stand out features IMO.

Did you watch the video. In the 1st 5 minutes of the vid they come up against each other in three contests, one in general play where Naita runs into trouble, the other is a centre square contest, which Naita wins hands down, the other is a shoddy bounce which doesnt allow Naita to contest.

The vast majority of the ruck dominance you speak about isn't even against Vickery. It's against the redheaded number 9 for VicMetro, I'm not sure who it is.

when Natanui actually versus Vickery you'l find they both have their victories and a lot of stalemates but the edge goes to Vickery, and he was better around the ground.

Vickery will be a good to very good player for us and a leader of the club. He's a traditional if mobile ruck-forward. As I've said before he reminds me of Josh Fraser. Hopefully he's an upgrade.

NickNat is something else. Even if he isn't the greatest kick he has the ability to explode away from opponents into space and time to fire off what is usually a pretty incisive handball to advantage. He can jump over houses and his hands tend to stick.

NickNat will be a one-man freak show, with a demonstrated willingness to play for the team. A rare combination. Vickery should become a big cog in what is hopefully a well-oiled machine.

he is a ruckmen, he is not supposed to have the skill of a midfielder.
