Victorian Football League State Squad


The Victoria Football League is pleased to announce the following players have been selected in the 2008 State Squad, for the State League match against the SANFL at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 31st May.

The final list of 24 players will train at TEAC Oval, Port Melbourne on Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th May, commencing at 6.00pm.

AFL Rookies are eligible for the VFL state team.He'd be ineligible now that he was promoted to the senior list the other day.

You can scrap James Byrne from the VFL squad.He broke his hand yesterday and is gone for 6 weeks.

A lot to like about Nahas, would be happy if my club took a punt on him come draft day. Anyone know if there is a reason why he has been overlooked in the past. His clean ball handling really impressed me even at good pace.

Why did they choose a bunch of kids rather than seasoned footballers like Teague, Lappin, Morrell, Licuria etc? And how Marigliani didn't end up getting a game is beyond me. Massive Liston chance.
I'm assuming Nahas has been overlooked in the past because he is built like a toothpick. Can play the boy.
