Recently bought a new computer with XP Pro and a GEForce 4 card. Problem is when i tried to play a game, it seems the screen isnt centered. On the left side of the screen theres about a 4cm black gap. Screen resolution and desktop screen size is fine.

Tried another game and the same prob.... any ideas on how to fix this?? Mucked around with the settings of the display but no luck

Your desktop is most likely running at a different resolution than the games. This often occurs when desktop is running at 640x480 or 1024x768, and the game is running at 800x600. 800x600 has a different proportion of pixels horizontally than those other two resolutions mentioned. There are two solutions:

One is to change the desktop resolution to 800x600 in display->properties and then stretch the screen using the buttons on the monitor

The other is to run the game(s) at either 640x480 or 1024x768.

Cheers.

:)
