Good morning Pie fans, it's a Friday, the weekend is here!

For every Thursday leading up to the first pre-season hit-out of 2017 for Collingwood, i'll be posting classic Collingwood match highlights posted as TBT (throw back Thursday).

Granted it's a Friday (duh), i''m still going to post this anyway, i hope you don't mind!

To kick things off we relive the moments of our 2010 Premiership season, Round 17 against Richmond. It was Ben Johnson's 200th game for the Pies and who could forget that classic Didak "shimmy'?

I apologise in advance if i miss a week or if i post it on a Friday, like today. Flying start for me, eh?

If you have any suggestions for the next video post below and i'll see what i can do!

I'll cut to the chase and post the video below.

Enjoy Pie fans!

Didn't take too long for the female Commentator to get axed by Channel 10 from memory. Not much has changed for Richmond ;)

She is on Back Page.

Seems nice girl but that Voice would drive me Mad

Kelly Underwood isn't it?
Good, knowledgeable commentator, but always seemed to be trotting out old cliches borrowed from other commentators to me - never had her own style. The fact the she is about the only female commentator ever for footy (has Sam Lane ever commentated? any I am missing?) shows that she has a bit going for her.

She had some work to do to get up to standard but it was a bit of a case of us boys not being used to the sound of a female commentator and going into shock. They should have persisted with her she was only going to get better but there was a predictable backlash and they dumped the experiment.

That Lee Brown goal from the Goldsack torp at the kick in is one of the greatest ever Collingwood goals. Got to be the time record or close to it for a goal from kick-in.

The other thing I took from that was Tarkyn Lockyer playing that late in the season.. then getting dropped for the gf's. Harsh on Tarks.

I had no problem with Kelli, unfortunately the voice just cut through me.

You are not alone, I hear "d" what you are saying. I think it's a subconscious reaction to something we're just not used to... but I could be wrong and maybe she does just have a grating voice. I suspect a lot of people might have the same issue with the voice of the next female commentator they trial as well though.

Maybe but for me it was just her grating voice. No probs with female commentators, I think it'll be great in a few years time when some of the retired women's footballers get a gig. If it happens sooner, then great!:thumbsu:

1) Geez I miss Didak. His best was just fantastic.
2) That Goldsack kick in that resulted in a goal was awesome.
3) I miss how we used to share the goals around and would consistently have 10-12+ goal kickers a game.

I'm not disputing that many think she had a grating voice (and I heard it myself) but I'm asking if we find her voice grating because her voice IS grating; or because it's somewhere we don't think it should be.. at a subconscious level.? Our subconscious is a pretty strong driver in emotional responses like this. If she was commentating netball or basketball would we notice her "grating voice".

She came the Lead Caller for the Netball on FoxSports.

Yeah it's Kelly.

I don't how and why she got Hired so I can't Comment about that

That was 1 of the Most Fun Games I been to. Just so many Exciting Things Happening and Of Course making Tigers look 3rd Rate:thumbsu:

Once again, for me it was her voice, I can't speak for others or their sub conscious.

I think she does commentate for netball or some such & she has obviously worked on her voice. Don't try & make that justify your point. It's already too circular a conversation.

LOL.. yes that was my point.. she does commentate netball all the time and no-one ever complains about her grating voice when she commentates netball! Go figure!

I for one can't remember the last, (non Olympic/Commonwealth Games ) netball game I watched.
Maybe we test your theory another and get Mel McLaughlin to commentate on footy.
I don't find her voice grating...

From memory he got dropped the week after in a like for like with... erm... Travis Cloke.

At the time it was a bit harsh but Cloke needed to come back in and at that stage I think the question marks over his pace meant the club preferred (wrongly in the view) Davis.

Tarks was actually responsible for two of Caff's 3 goals that day, but after getting dropped the week after he only got one more opportunity (against Essendon) in which he had his worst game in the season that stamped his papers.

On a personal note I was shattered because I flew across from Perth the next week for our match against Carlton. Never saw Tarks live in his final season for us. :(

Edit: Lies re Caff, must've been the week before against St Kilda I was thinking of. Still quite a few handy score involvements in that video...

Good stuff!

With the draft approaching, Round 20 1991 vs Brisbane would be a good one.
(If you're not Knightmare ;) )

Enjoy hombre.

For what it's worth I despise music in footy videos, particularly when it's there for no good reason.

It's not like we watch footy with music in the background so I see no reason why it should be in highlights packages online – 90% of highlights online now have no music. Perhaps take that into consideration 100volt1
