Virus Deleted My Documents

Messages similar to the following came up on my screen-

Now the messages are gone, but so are My Documents, my Favourites and god knows what else.

Anyone have any ideas what to do? Would be much appreciated, lost very important documents!!!

Bogus software reporting a false security issue. Well thats what I would have thought, given I've seen this bogus software before..
Are your sure that your documents folder has gone or is just being hidden by this phoney software?

Usually they ask you to pay for the full software to rid your pc of ' supposed security issues'

haha, one of mates just told me about this today and how he got it.

he got rid of it, but he skipped over those details...so i'm basically no help to you whatsoever.

Only install trusted security/system tool suites and aviod the countless bogus software utilties that are offered as free or trial offers...

Same thing happened to our desktop computer last week. The bro managed to fix it (think he used either Malware or AVG) but our My Documents folder was in the bin and heaps of files were hidden (thought I was going to lose all my music).
