5 - Matera: best game of the year. if he doesn't make all australian them i'm madog muir

4 - Judd: Magnificent today

3 - Embley: Did his job and could move around the ground more

2 - Lynch: Our best defender today, a solid effort

1 - Chambers: showed his worth, saved his spot, much better that adkins

5 Judd
4 Matera
3 Glass
2 Lynch
1 Staker

Unlucky to miss: Chambers, Embley, Doogs and Seaby

Some people are giving Cox votes, but IMO he only had an average game, Seaby played just as well as Cox (if not better).

Cousins 5 votes?? he wouldnt have even been in our top 10 players today....I was extremely disappointed in Cousins.... there is something not right with him at the moment....

I think he has set such high standards in the past that if he doesn't kick one and get thirty touches we think he's down. He worked very hard yesterday but yeah, he's had better days for sure. I still think he was worthy of 1 vote though.

I hope he's not carrying an injury.

He hobbled off after the game and had a huge icepack strapped to his left foot in the rooms, yep the one that kept him from doing a preseason.

A word on the rookies, they played great...but youngsters ae often inconsistant. If we ant to forget the 8 and really blood the rookies then it's a fair plan, but if we want to go for the 8 then Rowan Jones (good game yesterday), Adam Hunter, Drew Banfield and maybe Chad Morrisson need to play to add some experience to the team.

Stongly disagree....

Morrison has proven that he cannot hack it both as a creative player and as a stopper, if forced to go for experiance I would sooner go for Humm/Green then him. Adam deserves few more chances and Drew I think will retire, as he probably will not have much chance to get fit. In so far as rookies being inconsistant well Bones, Nickski have shown far more this season then any of the players you mentinoned and it is the players you mention that have been inconsistant.

I agree with you on Morrisson, that's why I said maybe. If Banners can't get fit then you'd be correct there too. However, R Jones, Hunter, Morrisson and Banfield have shown very good ability over the past few years and have experience under their belts. At the business end of the season it is these type of players that tend to stand up and be counted. I agree that Jones and Morrisson have not been in good form and Hunter is suffering from lack of a preseason due to his shoulder injury, but they can come into form (as Jones showed yesterday) and can be important players for us. I agree that Nicoski has cemented his spot and Brett Jones is close.
I think Green, like Carroll, lacks skills and their spots are gone unless we have an injury plague. Humms skills are questionable too but he is younger.

I see what you are saying and on the whole I do not violently disagree with you on anything... Be Your Best Friend :D :D

5. Fido - 6 goals, awsome. 33 goals for the season so far and third on the goal kicking ladder at present - heading for AA selection

4. Judd - consistantly good. Played great and was good to see him get a goal.

3. Embers - returned to the midfield and was a lot more confortable

2. Chambers - starting to find some good, consistant form. 3 goals and solid all game. Test is if he can show the same form away.

1. Seaby - i thought he did really well in the ruck. Also looked good up forward. lead with purpose.

Others:
-Lynch and Glassy both deserved votes. Lynch provided us with good run and well and truely beat Ottens. Glassy did well on Richo.
-Cox played pretty well but i personally thought it was a bit down on his last couple of performances
-Cuz played pretty well. gave away some silly free kicks.
-Good to see Wirra back in some form. His confidence grew throughout the game.
-Steaker again to some great marks. Only critisism is that at times he doesn't move the ball on fast enough.
-Butler also did well in his first outing. Didn't look out of place at all

5.Judd - awesome game.

4. Matera - where would we be without him.Hopes he starts breeding sons very soon!

3. Embley - relished the chance to run again

2. Chambers - please do it again next week Callum

1. Glass - beat Richo - no mean feat

Mentions to Cox, Seaby, Ben,Brauny and Lynch

5. Matera - best small forward in the comp. - 6.2 & the focal point when he has to be, as well as a great crumber. Was hit repeatedly & kept on coming
4. Judd - pure class, made errors but at least he was getting the ball in the first half, explosive in the clearances and is starting to do everything, everywhere, every week
3. Embley - persisted to be incredibly important to our victory in the second half
2. Lynch - terrific rebounding defence, long kick, thumped Ottens, who is "potentially a star" (TM - Richmond)
1. Seaby - excellent ruck work, he taps it Gardy-style to our players. Useful up forward and around the ground

Unlucky:
Glass - showed Richo never to start what he couldn't finish. Excellent negating game, would have a vote if he got > 1 possession
Chambers - excellent second half + 3 goals (1 shocking miss prob cost him a vote)
Cox - very good field kicking, takes the hospital handpass quite well (why do we do that?), would get votes if his ruckwork wasn't so easily read by the other side. Stafford should be reported on video (we said it at the time, so don't know what the Oranges were up to) for that kneeing (yet again, well done Staf, you git)
Nicoski - excellent first half, solid, good rebounder, good evasion & that penetrating left foot kick
Staker - good leading and marking, needs to move it on quicker and force the FF to lead (i.e Woosh needs to tell Staker to turn after marking and kick to the lead, then drag the FF if he doesn't lead)

They were my top 10. The fact that we won, & would have won easily if the free kicks that were there had been paid, without Cousins, Fletcher, Kerr or Sampi in the top 10 demonstrates how useless Richmond are and that some of our younger players are really prepared to share the workload, which is a promising sign.

judd
matera
emberly
cox
lynch

cous was good but that is a given, so no votes for him. staker was good but like a lot of you r saying he needs to turn after a mark and get it in to the forward line alot quicker to put pressure on opposition backline (to much time get back)

5 - Juddy
4 - Matera
3 - Staker
2 - Lynch
1 - Embers

Good games from a number of others Cuz, Glass, Coxy, Chambers (3 good goals), young guys were good again, Butler looks great, and Seaby was very good.

Lets hope for a decent effort in Melb this week!!! and hopefully another rung up the ladder!

5. Judd - ( Insert Comment)

4. Matera - wasn't far off the 5

3. Lynch - Pantsed Ottens all day!

2. Staker - Led well & marked just about everything

1. Chambers - 3 goals not a bad effort.

5. Matera - Was red hot, if the majority of team didn't go to hell in the first half and take their foot off in the last, I honestly think he could have got 10 goals (accuracy permitting). He was ON.

4. Judd - Great stuff, a few disposals were iffy but the positives far outweighed the negatives.

3. Embley - Pretty much back to his best, his kicking let him down a bit, if he'd kicked 3 goals instead of behinds, he'd get the 4.

2. Chambers - Really good game from Cal, again it was kicking on goal that also hurt his game but he did a lot of good things.

1. Staker - Great marking, which is so rare in this team, it deserves a vote. His decision making was slow but hey, I didn't see those tall forwards providing good leads and Fido, bless him, can't be expected to do it all.

Good stuff from Cousins (a bit down, silly holding the ball stuff a couple of times, but generally good), Nicoski, Cox, Seaby and Quint.

Sorry about being so late, but thanks to telstra I haven't been able to log in for a while. Anyway, here are my votes:

5. Judd
4: Matera
3: Embley
2: Fletcher
1: Kerr
