I thought Wellingham was our best yesterday, really worked hard, clearly filling McGovern's intercept role in the back line and did some very classy work when under the pump. Under rated game, under rated season - he's proven me wrong.

His improvement from last year, along with Sheppard and Gaff are the prime reasons for the club's improvment IMO.

They got hm's

I put players on how they do their respective jobs - not just how they played

So a defender who gets 15 possies, rebounds of half back and negates his opponent will often outscore a mid who gets 34 possies.

I dont doubt priddis will get 3 votes today and deserve them.

I just see things differently

But, according to your methodology, you should see it pretty much in line with the match committee when they cast votes for the B&F. In fact they are more attuned to "respective jobs" the players have than even you and how they performed on that basis. I'll be intrigued to see their votes for this match and if the 2013 B&F and 2014 B&F runner up features prominently. I'm guessing he will.

5. Hurn - thought he set up the win in the first quarter, this is where we won the match essentially, and I noticed him involved a lot. Some beautiful kicks to relieve the pressure, as Sydney were on top for large parts, but he really stepped up to restrict the swans and create coming out.

4. Priddis - Went hard all day, I expected him to play well in a game like this, and he did. Didn't let them get an easy clearance, constantly provided us with run from clearances and even provided a marking option at times. A great all round game.

3. Sinclair - he and NN were about even, can't split them, but I'll give the extra vote to Sinkers because he doesn't have the natural ability of NN, but he managed to output at just as high a level. Marked, chased, tackled, even kicked a goal all while doing a solid job in the middle.

2. Naitanui - Dominated the game from the middle, got his pace back in some great tackles and pressure acts. Got his contested marking game going and even chimed in for a good goal. This is why he's worth all the hype (and money).

1. Darling - Similarly to Hurn, the game was essentially won in the first and Darling was a huge factor for our early lead. His marking is as good as it's ever been, his kicking for goal elite and his worth rate is 2nd to none. Provided the option in the first when a few of our other forwards were a bit down.

HMs
Shellingavierassfield - I singled out Hurn as I feel he featured early, but that entire back line is simply amazing, they just work so well for each other.
Shepperds courage to take marks when he doesn't know what could hit him
Wellingham's clean ball skills, he picks it up with ease, marks everything and delivers beautifully
Xavier's elite precision kicking set up a few goals
Barrass had some big moments 1 on 1 and came up with the goodes
Schofield was good without being outstanding, but when he went off they did nab a few goals, and he does add that structure we need.

Shuey, Gaff and Yeo in the middle were very good.
Yeo got his marking and tackling game going which was great to see.
The others just worked their asses off, which is what you come to expect.

Sheeds handballing, orgasmic.

Le Cras finally breaking the duck.

Having watched a replay

5.Shep
4.Pridd
3. Yeo
2. Lecca
1. Sinclair

HM - Naita, Gaff, Wellers

Hutch went well I thought, particularly early. Would be good to see how he goes with a few full matches under his belt to get a better feel for the pace of the game. I thought the criticism he has drawn from some is overly harsh

You are forgetting Cripps. Wasn't top 5 yesterday by most measures but would have made many people's top 10 I'd guess.
