Fan F*ckin Tastic, first game ive been to all year and it was their best game.

3 - Lovett - Just what we needed

2 - McPhee - superstar. Works so hard!

1 - McVeigh/Lucas/M Johnson - any of em

- We are such a better team with a spine playing for the whole game
- Remember how Sheeds said that years ago he wanted to recruit ten aboriginal players. Todays a perfect example, Lovett, NLM, Cupido, Rioli and even Murphy put in magical efforts which put the game in our favor. Anyone know if Adrian Wilson is any good and could get a game?
- No Bolton...... No Henneman! I for one was relieved when I saw Bolton had been sidelined.
- No Jimmy, No Solly! Add them into that and anythings possiible
- Laycock/Hille, if they can keep getting better and share the load, they could be quite a tandem
- Theres still 14 games left in the season. We are 1 game behind 5 other teams, If we could get on a run, premiership contention is possibility, though they still do have a lot to prove.

Easy tiger....lets not get carried away...

My votes...

3. Lovett - Absolutely superb..is that 6 Brownlow votes already???

2. McVeigh - Great game. Shut Medhurst down and ran and ran and ran. And that goal at 1/4 time!

1. Stanton - I'll give Stants a vote. I don't remember him screwing up a kick all game and delivery into the forward line at least twice from memory was first class. 18 possies and never played a full qtr. Great stuff.

McPhee was great but had a couple of brain fades and one led to a 50m penalty.

Honourable mentions to MJ, Scotty, NLM, Cupes and Woosha...

Haha it was good but don't get carried away...

3 votes to Lovett.
Brilliant.

2 votes to McPhee.
Best player in our team without a shadow of doubt.

1 vote to David Hille.
A most welcome return.

Notable mentions- the Johnsons, Cupido, Laycock, McVeigh did his bit...

Winderlich and Alvey played well enough IMO to keep their spot.

Missed the first quarter but from there it seems there is a disregard for Peverill. Plenty of times he was the resaon Freo was turned around.

Windies, thought Zantack showed he could play today. As you said, not pretty, but effective. Loved the point call.

3 lovett definetly best
2 mcphee did everything dominated first half and the last quarter and half shut down pavlich
1 mcveigh good, 2 awesome goals shut down medhurst and fletcher was also pretty awesome, tied.

Thought murphy was poor, winderlich okay needs to be more sure of himself, stanton great, zantuck good in stints but lazy, just lets hes man get kicks, not willing to sprint cost us at least two goals were he stayed ten metres away they chipped to his man, was so predictable, why he didnt push that ten, fifteen required??? but did like his aggressive, in your face nature. Riolli struggled IMO, unfit carring injury, or most likely just a bad day at the office. cupido was good when on, but to sheedys credit used him effectively and good game considering lovett, a same style forward was the dominate player on the ground.

Really rapt with hillie and laycock, lost hitouts most probably, didnt get 20 odd kicks and dominate but both seemd really smart and effective players.
Stuff like hitting the ball in the right direction off the turf, hillie going back with the flight then repeated efforts, whacking ball out of sandilands hands .good ruckman, not dominate but smart, mobile ruckman for the next 5-10 years for efc imo.

Mcveighs goal awesome but form freo perspective never should have happened, whole pack all miss ball bounced in the goal square, what the!!!

Despite all this we will still struggle this year i think 7-10 wins no finals 10-14 most likely finish IMO. Hope finals though, not completely beyond this team IMO.

Sorry for all the notes but 1st game been to all year so was taking notice.

3. Smokey - guts and skill personified
2. Lovett - broke the game apart when it was needed
1. Lucas - presented and presented and presented. Works his butt off, takes the heavy hits and makes an impact.

I liked the set up in the last 1/4.
Leave Lloyd at CHF for a while until he gets his marking back. Lucas can play the leading forward role with Cupes, Lovett and Laycock around him. Thats a forward line that will trouble most sides.

It also takes a bit of heat off Scotty as I'm sure his body is getting battered about and needs a bit of a rest from playing CHF week after week. We need another 3-4 years out of him still.

3. Lovett
2. McPhee
1. Lucas

MJ, Pev, McVeigh stiff.

Look so much better with Hille and Cupido back. Lovett and Laycock are firing and all of a sudden the forward line looks real dangerous, even with Lloyd horribly out of form.
