3. Cotchin - Clear BOG for me. We had no-one else that was going to get the quality inside possessions if he didn't get them. Imposed himself on the match in the first half to really set the tone, just superb leadership.

2. Houli - Great game. Even more remarkable, given that he is fasting for Ramadan at the moment. Loved that he had 23 kicks.

1. Rance - Career game. Managed Goodes, looked composed with the pill (well, as composed as he can look with that manic nature), and just kept competing.

Some other pretty superb efforts as well, but they've all been mentioned.

3. Cotchin - star, uncanny resemblence to Judd

2. Houli - what a pick up, great kick, great player to have running off half back, looks really composed. We looked for him all day, and he still performed even after he got the forward tag.

1. Rance - looking more and more like he is going to be a premium full back. Beat Goodes easily when Goodes was forward. Just needs to work on his foot skills a bit more. Could be very Scarlett-esque, the way he can shut down opponents, and get 25 touches humself.

Thought Grigg was really good today aswell, did some nice things under pressure.

Riewoldt looks like he's getting back into it, will be good to see him doing the same selfless things and kicking 5 himself.

Tuck was good, got in and under and helped swing the clearances in our favour, and helps shield the younger guys.

Thought King got back into a bit of form aswell, got more of the ball, and bobbed up at the right times.

Nahas was really good, even though he had that purple patch in the middle of the year playing on the ball, I think his best position is playing from a forward pocket or flank, who can go into the middle when needed. Reads the play really well, and looked good at the forwards feet.

Tyrone is looking better and better with each game.

Deledio really good again, a lot of the ball from half back, really composed, also came across to spoil a few times which is what he needs to do if he's going to play the loose man role.

Thursfield looks as if he's jumped McGuance, has been really solid the last 3 weeks, played well on LeCras last week, and then played on Reid and shut him down. Playing for his career and giving himslef every opportunity.

Miller, although he didn't have much of the ball, I liked his game, drew Grundy away from Riewoldt and Tyrone, and crashed into packs and really makes a contest of everything, good leader in my opinion.

Batchelor looks like a star, just needs to play out 4 quarters (I know he got injured at the end), in the 1st quarter especially he looked really good, gettng a lot of the ball and running off his man. Reminds me a bit of Enright.

Post, although I've liked to bake him a bit on here, looked good yesterday. Make good decisions, started to look more at home, but I was most impressed with his marking and contests. Hopefully he can string a few more good performences together and change my mind on him.

Dea looked pretty good aswell, got a fair bit of the ball and did some really good things. Looks good down back (replacing Farmer in the team is my call).

Martin, obviously tired but still proved a handful for Sydney. He will be a star of the competiton without doubt, but I would rest him for the rest of the season.

Disappointed with:

Graham, it seemed that he gave away a free kick in every ruck contest, well beaten by Mumford, and I think it's obvious that he's done as an AFL footballer.

Jackson, did 1 or 2 nice things (like the candy sell at the end), but again, looked really slow out there, skills weren't great, and just gave away silly free kicks at important times of the game (Goodes).

Farmer, really poor skills, I think he butchered the ball twice in the same play in the 1st quarter. And I think with the emergence of a few of our young defenders, he will find himself overtaken.

But all in all a really good team performance. Makes me wonder why we can't play like that, or with that intent every week. Everyone played their role, and for the first time in a long time, we had a clear game plan and it was obvious to everyone. Need to back it up with another good performace next week though to show it wasn't a trademark Richmond one-off. But really happy, and really excited for 2012.

Go Tiges!
