Voting forms - Where are they???

I'm curious to know whether or not I am alone here...I am a registered member of the Carlton Football Club, which obviously entitles me to vote.

As of today, I am yet to recieve any voting forms.

I have recieved all the usual pre-election propoganda, pamphlets from the 'Unity' Group, Lauraine Diggins and today from the 'Driving change together' group. Yet, still no voting forms.

I contacted the club last Wednesday and they assured me that the forms would be in the mail when I got home or Thursday at the latest.

When on Friday I still had not recieved any forms, I contacted the club who advised me again that there was a problem and they did another mail out on the Friday, so wait until Monday or Tuesday of this week.

As of today, nothing.

I contacted the club today who told me that quote "Australia Post have experienced delay's due to the long weekend and the forms should be recieved on Thursday (tomorrow)."

I asked that if I still have not recieved any forms tomorrow, what options do I have? The response was to come into the club personally, with a statutory declaration stating that I have not recieved any voting forms, and a new form would be provided to me!!

Give me a break!!

I'm the fool who continues to believe all this crap that OUR club keeps feeding to us!

Same situation exactly - word for word. I have the fax option left IF they arrive tomorrow or Friday and IF the fax option isn't declared invalid after counting.

I have election material from the candidates but as yet no voting forms.

Believe me this is a very widespread problem. Everyone is being told the same thing, need a Stat Dec etc.

This is simply unacceptable and the club needs to realise this. No matter what the result of the election, people will be demanding another vote as they were unable to vote because of the clubs delay in sending the forms.

My situation is a little different.
I only registered to vote recently, and have only just received my "how to vote" forms.

However, I have been assured by the club that I should have them tomorrow, so I will have to fax them from work on Friday.

I asked them today and they said they'd send mine out by express post and I should receive them tomorrow. If you haven't received them tomorrow call them up and get them to express post or ?fax them so you can fax back on Friday.

I am a recently regestered member was in exactly the same boat and equally anxious and irritated.

I made numerous nasty calls and eventually sent an email to another department (membership department is under the pump this week after all).

Finally, this reply did shed some light:

"Under the Club procedures any new voting members have to be confirmed by the Board at the next Board meeting, which was held on the 25th January (last Thursday) and therefore your information was sent to the mailing house on the same day. Due to the Australia Day public holiday on the Friday the mailout containing your voting papers was not sent out until the Monday of this week (29th Jan) and as you said you have yet to receive this."

Of course I was skeptical until the voting forms arrived in today's post, so I would be surprised if all of you didn't finally receive your forms in today's post as well.

I never got mine either.

All those people on this forum that ramble on with nothing but positive cr@p day after day make me sick.

It is because of people like this the club goes no where!

The club has totally fkd it's members over today.

I hope you have all been listening to SEN and heard Mark Robinson's comments and Andy Maher.

I have called and called. Rang, emailed, fax, almost sent smoke signals for nothing.

^^^^ That's a bit sad that you feel this way Blue Jedi. No-one knows better than all of us that the club is in trouble off the field, but on it, we are developing a great list that will take some beating in a couple of years time.

By the time that this does come around, all of these off field stuff ups will be forgotten and we can get on with the real job at hand - watching the Navy Blues be successful.
