if ever there was a reason to HATE the west coast eagles ive got one for you ...
we talk about collingwood/essendon being an evil corp but the WCE have upped the ante
in years gone the West Australian government in an attempt to bring footy to the public and encorage sports tourism dictated that for football games at Subi oval 3000 tickets must be made available to the general public for purchase through ticketmaster and the like.. the other day CEO Trevor Nisbett admitted on local radio that in the previous years the WCE had in fact sold these public tickets to their "in the wings members" in a pre sale and only the left over tickets from that pre-sale were actually released to the general public meaning for most game tickets to the WCE game were near on impossible to grab. Now with the new stadium the government are cracking down on the WCE and the 6000 tickets allocated to the general public are not allowed to be manipulated in the way they have in the past ... problem fixed right .... wrong ... the WCE being the ruthless money hungry bastards they are found a loop hole , the ticket sales for the first 11 rounds at the new stadium opened last week but you would have never known this as the AFL site and all advertising said it wasnt open as yet... the WCE convenietly forgot to advertise the fact that the tickets were open to the general public but ironically sent an email to their "in the wings" members the day it opened basically giving them first bite of the ticket cherry ...
on top of this the WCE one of the richest clubs in the land ever so delightfully set the ticketing cost at an astronomical $55 per ticket .. funny enough their cross town rivals are selling their tickets at $39 ..
good old WCE putting the game further and further out of the reach of the general public ..
