WAFL Tug of War Over Francis

As part of Freo's compensation package to Fabian Francis, he was offered a spot in Souths squad, however this may not be a cut and dried as it appears. With the AFL/WAFL host club arrangements being axed, it could go to an SANFL type mini-draft situation or Francis may be considered a free agent. 2 other clubs are interested in picking him up, Easts and Peel (at least he'll feel at home int he Peel jumper!). Although a Royals supporter in the WAFL, I think he should play with Souths, with the Dockers being their home ground.

This is going to pose a problem to the WAFL as given Francis will getting paid by the dockers to coach. A player of his ability would normally be one of the highest paid WAFL players if he was recruited to play WAFL but if a deal has been done then the WAFL will have to check out the situation.
To me he is either a free agent and will be paid by the WAFL club what he is worth to them to play or a Dockers player and go into the reverse draft.
