Hi Footy Fans...

I'm back in town from my trip to WA and thanks to Port1978 & DockerBrat for having me... I know I was a pleasure! ;) :D

But enough from me, what a day at Fremantle Oval for the big State League clash and it did not disappoint! A big win for the Croweaters in the end, thumping the Sandgropers to the tune of 10-goals.

West Adelaide players Darren Bradshaw and Dean Howard along with last-minute addition Brant Chambers from Sturt were handy in the SA goal front, with a total of 10 goals between them. However it was Glenelg's Brett Backwell who opened the Croweater's goal account with a 35m punt.

On the other side, East Perth's Paul Ridley and Subiaco's Brad Smith had five between them, with three other WA players finding their way to the big posts.

Former Port Magpies & current Subiaco Lion Richard Ambrose kept Howard quiet for a while, along with Troy Butcher and Brady Anderson had it all over the SA midfield for the first half.

But after the first half... the floodgates opened in a big way.

It took a bit of work, but with Bradshaw, Bulldog trio Chris Gowans and State debutants Quinton Graham & Paul Thomas helped to finally seal the game, finishing with a 60-point demolition.

Final Result of the State Match
SANFL 17.16 (118)
WAFL 8.10 (58)

The Fos Williams Medallist was Brett Backwell of Glenelg and the Simpson Medal went to Luke Webster of the East Perth Royals.

Well done Rab.
Great to see you got over there.
As for me, I was lucky enough to see the fina;l quarter in the clubrooms after our game - the time difference meaning the match was still in progress at around 6pm.
My team-mates couldnt believe how absorbed i was in the match - especially considering we beat our arch rivals and there were free beers for the boys.
Good work SA and great to see the Doggies boys showed their class.
