I would also like to blame Jarrad Waite for this loss. He, along with Betts, O'hAilpin, Yarran and Houlihan, had little influence on the game.

I guess we can't have it both ways... Waite's suspension against Port Adelaide was one of the reasons we probably picked ourselves up and won the game.

I can see Waite is trying to inspire the group by being aggressive but has unfortunately channelled that aggression in a stupid split-second decision in the wrong way.

Franklin has done the same this year as Waite and is now repaying his team by playing brilliant football. Let's hope Waite realises his mistakes (although he had good intentions) and plays his guts out and to his potential for the remainder of the season.

Happy for our players to play tough but need to play smart. I think we're guilty of DUMB footy a lot - silly frees, poor options. However - we ALL thought we were a chance vs the doggies and we capitulated. Not Waite's fault - insipid performance by too many. It IS a concern that Richmond, Freo, Melb (to a lesser degree) have reinvented themselves while we have beat our chests over the StK and Geel wins and have been treading water since. The above mentioned teams are currently crapping on us for sacrificial acts, gut running, defensive pressure - across the ground, and SKILL. Lately we don't seem to be TEAM focussed

its not his fault we lost of course,
but regardless he seriously needs to pull his head in. his decision making and actions on field have been terrible this year and feel he could have been rubbed out a few more times if he had have been judged harshly. He should be a leader at carlton and not be missing games for stupid reasons. Time to mature and learn from it, why does he keep throwing out stupid elbows or putting himself in these positions

Geez, we had a thread on this when he got reported and suspended. Now that we lost again you are looking for people to blame. I'd hate for him to get suspended for 12 weeks like Baker. Every loss we would have a thread telling him to grow up.

For those with selective memories, Waite was the only player showing some sort of aggression on that night. Ratten acknowledged he was trying to do the right thing by the team but got it wrong. Since then Waite himself has said he needs to do better.

This thread is nothing more than venting for the sake of it.
