Just wondering if these are common in the east coast? Ive noticed a few in Perth recently and am unsure how i feel about them. Anyone else find them demeaning to the people walking around with an ad on their back?

Things are only demeaning if they are being forced to do them. It may not be the best of jobs, and it might even be embarrassing to some, but if they take the paycheck, then it is their choice, and they have only themselves to blame if they feel demeaned.
Now pr0n, on the other hand, is demeaning to all involved, no matter how voluntary it is.
Gotta admit I feel a bit of pity for those that are walking billboards.
Whether such pity is warranted though, is another question.

I guess because it seems like a demeaning way of getting paid, that they would not have known would be part of the job when applying, and would have little to no say in being a part of.
but yeah bruh they gotsta get dat paper
