Not the most popular bloke amongst us, but this is interesting. Discuss:

http://www.sen.com.au/audio

PS: I don't know if that link will direct you straight to it, or just to the SEN audio page. So, here's a summary: Terry Wallace on "Harf Time" gives an imaginary ladder based on the performance from the first week of NAB. He places Richmond 4th, arguing that with the teams picked, par for the Dogs would have been an eight goal win. I was going to post this on the autopsy page but it's disappeared so here it it.

I think it's pretty silly to read much into NAB at all. Yes our kids did pretty well and kept the margin pretty close but we were smashed in most areas if you look at the statistics, which you would expect to happen. Don't think it's as simple as saying oh the doggies only won by 5 goals that's a fail, I'm sure they got a lot out of it as well.

I don't know who said you're not popular, but I agree with your mum; You're wonderful and everyone loves you.

Oh...you meant what did we think about the interview.

Well, Terry himself says that his observations have no bearing on the real season, and I agree.
He's made a few salient points about round 1 of the NAB cup, but what does it all mean for the season? SFA...that's what.

And the Burpengary jokes are laboured and not that funny.

I just like how they said the Doggies fans were going crazy on the SMS. And I am well aware that I am universally beloved, despite my predilection for sunbeds and squeaky voice.

Yeah, an ACL, a punctured lung and a concussion :p

Everytime I see/hear Punctured lung I think of the 12th Man (I think it was) doing a skit on the guy who ran into a box horse while attempting a vault.....

Can't wait for our premiership year to come so that we will be able to listen to Terry claim that it was his years at the Tigers and his building of the foundation that started us on our way...

I just ****ed up Daryl. :D

Edit: why did my word get changed to stuffed instead of ******

When everyone knows it was the tireless efforts of Jeff Gieschen and Spud Frawley that will have been responsible. If we win a premiership, they can say what they like.

I hope this has worked

Thanks for that little trip down amnesia lane:p.....The thing that makes me laugh is the the "interview" with the guy by the 12th man.Very funny...cruel but funny.:D

The more I think about it (after seeing injuries to Libba and McKenzie among others), the more happy I'd be just to get through pre season and the NAB cup with no injuries.

Winning games or seeing improvement from players is all well and good but if I had the choice, I'd go for a fit team for round 1 over a NAB Cup win.

Is there any financial incentives to win these games anymore?

Pretty sure there is some prize money on offer but not a huge amount.

Given we're not exactly short for money either, we probably don't need to go all out to try and get the financial windfall. :)

Well, I'm completely convinced of our future success now.....................

Seriously - is there anything more pathetic than trying to gauge real season form from a February practice match predominately played by kids and VFA top-ups? I mean, I know it's a sports radio station and they have to do something to attract listeners - but they might as well have Mystic Meg on, or choose the premiership favorite based the coolest pre-season top.
