How close is Robbie warnock to coming back from injury because im starting to worry that we have repeated the mistake of our last freo trade(longmuir). Is he going to be worth pick 20 something?

What did we give up for longmuir again???

"coming back"? :/
he will start off in the Ants. He would only know positioning and set plays by theory. Needs to develop in the Ants so wont see him until the end of the season but needs to fight for his spot just like everyone else.

everyone seems to think he is our number 1 ruckman when he is over his injury in 3-5 weeks and that he will slot straight in. Dead wrong! will need to develop and fight for a spot

Didnt we give up pick 70 odd for Longmuir? Wasnt really a loss.

Maybe I'm easily confused on selection days...

Ratten said on 3AW that he would start running next week and then they are looking at him being available for senior selection about Round 14 onwards (pending form etc).

Said he does about 14-15 on the beep test (I think ?) which is supposedly pretty good for a big bloke.

15 is whats required of an elite midfielder

I'll admit I know absolutely nothing about the guy. Don't remember if I've ever even seen him play :o

So he's meant to be reasonably quick, among ruckmen anyway? I'm not expecting him to have mobility around the ground akin to Kreuzer or Hampson, but another promising ruck who's quite mobile will be awesome.

Extract from CFC article on Warnock injury with Ratten quoted;

Ratten said Warnock would be more likely than most talls to be able to recover due to his agility and fitness.

"I know that his fitness levels are enormous because of what he can do in a beep test for a big fella. He can run about a 14.8 so that's up with some of the best midfielders, but we'll just have to see if he has any hiccups and how he proceeds from here.

"He'll be close to round one, [but] whether he plays seniors or Bullants he'll be playing football."

Will be interesting to see if he does get back to this pace.

Warnock is going to be great playing for Carlton
Kruz can be another massive tall up forward and Warnock whose like 206cm can dominate ruck. Can't Wait =) !

I read somewhere (can't remember exactly) that Warnocks best Beep Test is a 15.3 when he was fully fit. I would suggest though this may have been a little while ago and suspect a 14.8 would be an accurate figure now as he has put on a bit of body mass over the last couple of years......this increase in body mass can cause issues with foot fractures but can be overcome if treated correctly...........I didn't know the 20m time though.

Our rucks are looking very imposing on an athletic and endurance level, can anyone fill in the question marks

Kruezer 20m ? Beep Test 14.5 from memory
Hampson 20m 2.95 from memory Beep Test ?
Warnock 20m 3 Beep Test 14.8

14.1 Shaun got a draft camp but I think at the club he got 14.8 as his best.

My dad use to work the night-shift for many years at Fisherman's Bend Holden plant. He supervised the cabin and under bonnet warning systems section. He always said it wasn't the speed of your beep test that impressed as much as your consistency and accuracy. Pretty sure... :o
