Was anyone else disappointed?

I was down at Southbank last night....did anyone else sorta think the fireworks were crap?

It's like they had no plan...they started, then stopped, then started. You'd think it was done and then they'd shoot off one or two, then there'd be nothing again for five minutes, then another one or two. My S.O. says that they generally go for 15 minutes; this one was pretty much over by 12:05.

I guess after last year that this year wasn't that big a deal to anybody.

well i was at the beach and we saw all the fireworks from various places. There looked to be some good ones over Altona way really pretty and coloured but the city ones just looked like explosions. Anyway who cares its over for another year thank god grrh they shoulda had a footy game on again i think maybe just not Pies Carlton.

Yeah they should have had the teams that play for the "fat rat clacker's cup" participate in a new year's eve match.

Last years fireworks in Melbourne were stunning. I had a prime seat on the 31st Floor of the National Bank building (being a computer programmer in at work waiting for the world to end).

There were two sets of fireworks at either end of the city, both synchronised. We were all held in raptures for at least 20 minutes while this was going on.

Maybe they have blown their fireworks budget for the next decade and couldn't afford to do any better?

Maybe we should get Mags to be in charge of it next year!

i went in last year

the fire works were awesome

but its dry, we were sober by the time we got home

and its a prick to get home

i wouldnt bother again
much better staying home getting blind with mates
or going down to the beach
