I'm hearing 2 different sides to the story. On TV they were telling us that Trent Carroll was reported, but on radio and in the papers there is no mention of his number being taken.
On TV it looked as if the umpire had reached for his paper and pen but didn't turn Carroll around to see his number. Did the umpire just use scare tactics on Carroll, not follow procedure or just forgot in the heat of the moment? If he was incorrectly reported I'm fairly sure the charge can be dismissed.
