Wayne Campbell

Look this may seem to be having a go at Wayne Campbell, but to me as good a footballer he may be, he certainly does not come across as captain material.

Everytime I have watcher the tigers, if they are winning he plays well, when they are loosing, he seems to go missing. Tking the Captaincy from Knights and giving it to Campbell was a wrong moove.

As Captain he is required to stand tall, no matter how his team is travelling>

Would you consider Richo to be captaincy material? After all, he is the clubs leading player, it's biggest star, and will obviously play out his career at Richmond. He is maligned by the fans from time to time, but those within the club rate him highly apparently.

Gee I dont know aboutr Richo being Captain, his Kicking is atrocious, but he always seems to be working himself into the ground for the team.

On current form, and for the past couple of seasons form, and a person who seems to stand up even when the team is travelling ordinary is Bowden. I would think long term he would make a good Captain.

I more or less would feel the same way about Shane Warne becoming captain of Australia - some things just don't fit right!

I tend to think a captain should be dependable and reliable, not erratic and unpredictable like Richo is. Besides, could you just imagine how a young player would feel when the pass is off line by a few metres and Richo throws the head back and spits the dummy!

Richo although he works hard to undisciplined and not the right temperment..

Gaspar..maybe but should a guy who held the club over a barrel for more money and forced players to take pay cuts be captain??

I would probably go for gaspar next year and down the track ottens or maybe even someone like ty zantuck...(ty who i hear you ask)

I don't know whether there are any obvious alternatives for Tigers captain

I love Richo but he can go missing as much as Campbell when the Tiges are "off". I think there are obvious choices for captain in most clubs except Richmond.. not sure what that means....

In my opinion Richo is a leader anyway, and if he was given the title of "captain" it woudn't change the fact that the younger players look up to him. They look up to him anyway! He will be a leader no matter what. The captaincy might force him to improve his body language. His performances on the field make him a leader through his actions and I don't think that should be sneezed at.

Richmond has the most overrated midfield in the AFL. While it has one of the best forward lines, if you don't win the footy out of the middle you lose the game.
They need some hard nuts in the middle, and Knights and Campell aren't the answer.
Joel Bowden is a great player, but the two mentioned above are seagulls.

I'd rather see one of the Kellaways as captain. At least they are inspirational.
