I knew him as an acquaintance IRL and fed him information about WA juniors and in particular up and coming indigenous prospects. Very passionate about football but shared quite a lot of opinions on players to myself.

He moved to the Philippines and unfortunately shortly after died of a heart attack.

Corresponded with him privately on footy matters for many years before he found his celebrity status ( for want of a better term ) here.

Never met the man face to face but the intel that he shared more often that not come to be.

We had some mutual football and sport in general people that we both knew, and who’s work we discussed togther.

A lot of the intel was about other Clubs internal draft ratings and the possible trade speculation of player in the first quarter of the season, that actually came to be or if not exactly then said players moved to a different club to what had originally been indicated.

He also had good inside contacts at West Coast and shared a lot of that stuff with me.

Now I will say this if he was just a good speculator of info, what he shared with me was more often than not stuff that eventuated. The information about players with red flags that he had access early in their draft year often was spot on.

I for one miss the PM’s, dialogue and debates and general discussion that we had.

I made some enquires as to what had happened to him after all went silent.

And what Donkers had said previously is what I also heard.

Appreciate the update, the nature of it notwithstanding. I know he rubbed a few blokes the wrong way, but I did always enjoy his insights and admired he would stick to his convictions. Sorry to hear.

RIP Phil.

I always thought he was genuine. There was no immaturity or ego in his posts and he was obviously an intelligent person. Somebody who was wasting their time posting on here as a hoax would likely be an immature and/or low IQ person in order to get any kind of kick out of doing that, and that would have shown through as as trend over the course of all his posts if thats what he was doing.

Sad to read this Phil stuff.

He wasn't someone I read as gospel - only because 20+ years talking shit on footy forums has taught me to take everything with a grain of salt and nothing too seriously...but he offered some interesting insights on that account over the years.

ThIngs went a little sideways last year and probably crossed a line into a bit of hot air I think - but emotions were running hot with the whole Liam Baker

Part of the fun of this time of the year (especially when the team is shit) is the speculation and scenarios to discuss and bounce around with like minded people who love the game - Phil, or whoever posted on that account, definitely appeared to be someone who loved his footy.

I feel bad that I was taking the piss just yesterday commenting on a post on the Phil account. Condolences to all who knew him.
He was a bit of an enigma, knew enough that I had to read what he said but sometimes knew so much I doubted him.
