A great effort at AAMI Stadium against Port, but OMG how dumb did we play at times!
We had a very slow start & threw away all our good 2nd qtr work with a terrible start to the 2nd half too. Seriously how many of you threw things at the telly when we handed Port it's 6 goal lead back in the 3rd qtr? I was livid, it's happened all year & until we eliminate that sort of stuff, we're going nowhere.
Poor decision making, indecisiveness, poor execution of some pretty basic skills. I like Ferguson but he looked like a stunned mullett on a few occasions, same goes for Carrol & Williams. Rivers looked composed however.
I reckon Willo, MIller & Jolly have been great this year but they've struggled of late. Good to see Whoppa getting ground time, even if it's 15 weeks too late! Thompson, Rivers & Arma need more ground time too, they showed against Port that they're up to it.
We had quite a few contriubutors in stark contrast to the past few weeks. Neeta & Robbo up forward, Green & Macca in midfield & Brown & Biz down back.
How good was the tackling though? You could tell from the start we were having a go & it was great to see. I was expecting a hammering, but too be fair we were travelling better than them by the end.
Port look jaded but with top spot sewn up now, they should be able to manage their list & be primed for week 1 of the finals.
