16th Hawthorn 2 wins %67.68

If we dont win another game then our % will be less than the hawks. And if they beat us and the dogs who also want a priority pick than we might just get Pick 1. More importantly it would give us first pick in the PSD which would give us a huge advantage in the trade period.

We can only hope but i reckon it will be a nil all result when we play them , that is going to be one of the most interesting games of the season .

Might even go to that one with a Hawthorn scarf on yelling " DO IT FOR SCHWABBBBBBBBBYYYYYYYYYYY"

Pick 1 to the saints. Ball to Hawthorn Hodge to Richmond.

Or we could force Hodge into the PSD and get him for nothing.

If that Hodge rumour is based on the fact that he barracked for Richmond you can forget it.

Its only an interesting aside for players that they mention it to the press if they do go to the side they barracked for.

Hawthorn are as keen on Hodge as we are on Coughlan.

Why the hell would anyone even entertain the idea of giving the saints ANOTHER no 1 pick? Haven't they had enough over the last 5 years??? It would be crazy.

Ball is not worth a no 1 pick.

afew weeks back i put up a thread suggesting richmond was chasing a young star midfielder from another club...i was reluctant to name the player but it is now ovbviously common knowledge...the player was Luke Hodge. Its also true that the tigers have a liking for Luke Ball...however it will be nearly impossible to prise Ball away from St Kilda but we will be trying. Hodge is an easier target for Miller. Hodge is at Hawthorn, Hawthorn is a bigger rabble than us, and Hodge always wanted to be a tiger...so for the young man...this preseason is now or never. If hawthorn finish last...we can still get Hodge with the 2nd pick...it wont matter...but unless we finish last we have no hope on Ball.

Bloody Vandengburg. Bloody Ray Hall. If you are going to be near the bottom you might as well go all the way. They are too crap for us to make up ground

We will have pick 2 and pick 5 in the draft to start of with.

I would most definately target in priority:

1. Brett Deledio
2. Richard Tambling
3. Ryan Griffen
4. Lance Franklin
5. Jarryd Roughhead

Any two of those five would be a good start for our rebuilding campaign.

well

hEy Bob...still gay? (Reeldeel gag)

Seriously they are 5 top kids...

We can't miss on 2 of those ....................................................

unless we trade picks 2 and 5 for Martin Pike...That would be danny's top choice

Hey Dirty, not gay, never was, not that their is anything wrong with that!! :D

Yeah they are good kids to strt the rebuilding campaign, my wish would be for Brett Deledio and Richard Tambling but I believe we will probably get Ryan Griffen and Jarryd Roughhead which is still not too bad.

If for some reason we get the top pick, I would suggest Brett Deledio at 1, and Richard Tambling at 3.

Brett Deledio will be a superstar in the league, will play anywhere, has the poise and skill of James Hird and the leadership abilities too. A nice size kid that will be a very good addition to our squad.

Richard Tambling is the quickest player ive ever seen. He has the explosiveness of a Davey, the skill of a Wanganeen and will have the wraps of a Wells. He will be a midfielder because his clearances are very good and can find the pill.

There is a whisper that Hawthorn like Lance Franklin and I would hope they take him number 1.

what about this senerio?
considering the saints missing link is a ruckman:
ottens>>>>>>>saints>>>>>>>>ball>>>>>>>richmond
in the psd
hodge to richmond.

we lose otto but gain ball and hodge.

we can dream i guess lol

cheers!

Go the roughead.. With a name like that he's sure to be a star:D

Does anyone know if he has the head to match the name?

1. Brett Deledio
2. Richard Tambling
3. Ryan Griffen
4. Lance Franklin
5. Jarryd Roughhead

Since I live in Qld, I don't really know much about the young up-and-comers. What I want to know is will these guys be built well enough and skilled enough to play at AFL next year, or will they need a year of weight training and a run in the seconds before they are big enough and fit enough?

1. Brett Deledio - Yes
2. Richard Tambling- Forward Pocket you would think
3. Ryan Griffen- Not big but not small so yeh i suppose
4. Lance Franklin- Yes
5. Jarryd Roughhead- Yes

I doubt Tambling will go at 2. Griffen and Franklin are rated higher. Griffen is a safer bet and a more complete footballer, somone Miller would want. If we get Roughhead at 5 it would be a great draft, a highly rated midfileder and key back.
Ball wants to go to the Hawks in the pre season draft. Although his dad played at Richmond he has always been a Hawthorn supporter and feels this is his only chance to get to the Hawks.

Just clearing one thing up, I didnt expect Tambling to go number 2, but from what Ive seen, I believe he will be the second if not first best from this draft. He is a special talent.

I did say, any two of these five and we would be very happy and I still believe that.

I have a serious suspicion that Luke Ball will end up in the Hawthorn colours next year, and Hodge in ours.

Brad Ottens is still the question mark, if he does leave we should receive a handsome reward for him which would only add to our rebuilding phase.

If we do end up with:

2.
5.

PSD. Hodge

What an outcome that would be.
