Not quick enough off the line to be a top draw FB. I have seen him play heaps of footy. Good in the contest, great size for a KPD, kicks well, can create going forward, excellent spoiling technique. His engine is ok, not slow, but off the FB line he gets caught out by genuinely quick FF's.

Yeah, would be a bit of a ho-hum signing. Can't really see him being much of an upgrage on Hall in the short-term. Very similar player (although obviously younger and with unproven).

I suppose we are desperate for a ready-to-go key defender. That means older than 21, but for team development reasons less than 24. He needs to be cheap and available for trade. We need one who can kick and can run.

All of a sudden the number of possibles is very very small. Hence the Perry, Thornton, Polak 'interest'.

I hope we get Perry, rate him quite highly.

We could play a Pat Bowden, JON or even Raines on the super-fast, smaller FF's.

I don't think many have thought of this, but with many young and capable backmen on the market this year, getting Perry somewhat cheaply (ie not first or second rounder) along with another key backmen such as polak and thornton we could make our backline a very miserly one. These players could serve RFC for potentially a decade.

This would also release Hall to become a sweetener in another deal...

The likelihood of this happening is rather slim but, at this point in time, no one knows what Miller is concocting...

Funny enough I agree with Bentleigh on this one.

Watched Perry a lot, has the size, skill and composure to be a successful key backman, getting him along with a Polak this trade period would put our Backline in good stead.

Heard a lot of reputible people say that Perry to Richmond is as done a deal as Spider to Sydney and Thornton to Hawthorn.

Is he good enough to play full back?

As if he would leave Aerosmith for us !

Am I missing something though or does that not scream out Richmond?

FWIW, we'll hold on to Joel for another year atm. :)
No. It would scream out Norf Melbun.
perry has nothing to offer us. Steer clear from duds of rubbish teams.
