Weaver i was reading the above link and i personally havn't seen this kid play.
If you or anyone else has could some info be supplied about him.

IMO he seems a like a good size but what i would like to know about is his skill level, prefered position, etc etc

Also is he worth looking at with pick 18 providing there is nothing else around and is there any chance he could be still around at 51?

If we could pull off a draft of Cotchin/Morton, Pears/Collier/Bellchambers and Mckenna/Smouha/Gaertner i think we all would be very happy. i think 2 talls and a medium from our 3 picks should be the go.

will be a good chance to go early.. played CHB a few times and CHF. Skills are pretty good. iknow that he was spotted at a pretty early age and one of the stingrays staff members did say he will go early in the draft when his time comes.. so everyone down there has high hopes for him..

well that sums it up then doesnt it, kicking can be taught but the real question is big enough does he use his body in a contest well and can he mark the thing

Doesn't really play as a marking player. Is a giant midfielder like Goodes, Steve Johnson etc. He is 196cm. Lightning fast, has a leap and really dynamic. His kicking is let down by his ball-drop which is bad technique. Has been played forward and back but really is a utility who could be anything or nothing.

He could even go top-10.

His kicking is let down by his ball-drop which is bad technique. Has been played forward and back but really is a utility who could be anything or nothing.

I will start by saying that I know Steve (and his sister) he is a good kick and was described by AFL prospectus as an accurate kicker. He is now 198cms and was second fastest at draft camp over 20M (2.88). to say he can't kick is stupid. He went through a stage mid year where he was being told by AIS VM and Stingrays how to hold the ball and kick it and was trying to put all three together and it didn't work. When he went back to his old style his kicking went back to what it was. He had a 67% accuracy in front of goals.
He will be a superstar, very dedicated and clean living. Just give him time to build himself up and he will be a very good afl player

Ok. How about because he has an awkward ball drop he needs to compensate and allow for his action. So like a golfer who always hooks he can allow for it off the tee. However under pressure, when rushed, Gaertner can spray them about the place.

That is the big concern with blokes with poor techniques - how they go under pressure. I mean Gaspar could hit targets if you gave him 10 steps to settle himself and think it through. Have someone on his hammer and it could up in the air, along the ground, left, right, backwards.
