I peaked in high school.

And admittedly, it wasn't a very high peak, but it was a hell of a lot of fun.

And I've been happy to leave the boots up in the shed gathering dust until late last season I went to see a mate's team play. This wasn't just your local team of semi-serious guys who weren't quite up to it but still love the game - this was a game in Melbourne's one and only (as far as I know) Pub League.

The Old Bar (Johnson St Fitzroy) Unicorns were running around in white tshirts with black numbers spray painted on. The Tote (before the place closed) were much more serious and had Port-Adelaide footy jumpers and some seriously fit/talented blokes in the list.

The game, complete with half time brews and a ruckman wearing wrestling gear was absolutely brilliant. It had everything: spectacular misses, big hits, bigger misses and skills that would make Adam McPhee look silky!

I have never been more desperate to put the boots back on.

But instead I thought I'd create a thread where you can all tell your tales of weekend footy (and other sport if you want).

It's my first year in retirement from Footy, and I've reverted to midweek Basketball...

It's been at least 6 years since I had a basketball in my hands and for the first few games I was rustier than a Datsun 180B.

Slowly getting comfortable now.

Pulling on the boots for Gympie this week end short in numbers so doing a mate a favor mine you they play in the same strip as the handbaggers
I've been boxing skipping & weight training as usually & have done more running of late to get my fitness base up will start in the middle & take there best player out that will be my job it should be fun beers at Half time & the after match drinks will be a high light know kids AWOL for a night i cant wait best thing is it doesn't clash with the Hawk Game
