Lucy Boyd Standing at 172cm, Boyd is that in-between height for her role which is usually a tall defender, though she can be swung forward to provide an aerial presence.
The South Australian boasts some nice footy IQ and understands the game well, with her ability to get into the right positions and intercept mark at half-back or deeper one-on-one. She has worked hard on her endurance base, clocking a sub-eight-minute 2km time trial at the recent State Draft Combine, though her athleticism as a whole is the next main improvement for Boyd.
When it comes to her best traits outside her marking, Boyd is a penetrating kick of the football and is not afraid to push up to receive the ball by hand at half-back in a one-two situation. She ran at 77.8 per cent efficiency at the national carnival and was clean with ball in hand, while averaging 14.5 disposals and 3.7 marks at SANFLW level with a similar efficiency.

Poor old Tyls, Lucy's a tough judge. Played in the shadow of the incomparable Scott Hodges, but still managed to top the sanfl goalkicking twice, Port's goalkicking 3 times and was in the sanfl team of the year twice. Would have kicked 100 in 1992 but broke his hand late in the season on 97 goals. Played in the 94 flag in defence.
