Welcome to the best club in the land, Andrew.

From the West Coast Bigfooty Board, we welcome you with open arms and wish you success.

Go well Andrew.

Same age as Simmo when he came on board too I think. I like that we've gone for the youngest candidate and not conformed to the media narrative that we should be getting an experienced head in for a few years who isn't going to last.

He should come in with some fresh ideas and be in for the long haul :fire:

Good to see Andrew "Mini" McQualter get appointed as a senior coach.

Very well liked and respected at Richmond during his time as an assistsnt coach under Hardwick, the players absolutely loved him. He then became caretaker senior coach after Hardwick left the club mid-season in 2023. Mini's record was 7-6 from 13 games. He applied for the senior coaching job at the Tigers and missed out, I assume because the club wanted a fresh set of eyes.

He then moved to Melbourne as an assistant coach for the 2024 season.

As a player he got to 94 games in the AFL, falling short by 6 for the 100 game mark.

All the best, Mini.

I like that he’s young (38) and can grow with our young group over the next 3 years and more likely to connect with them than an older coach.

Apparently loved by the Richmond players, and comes from a successful era at the tiges.

Welcome Andrew, hopefully we can get cup number 5 with you!

Bad choice, learnt everything he knows off Hardwick, if we end up with any Richmond players through the trade period I will immediately be trying to get rid of him.
You mean like Baker and Graham? Who have pretty much announced their intentions to join?

Good to have it finalised - the sooner we can start looking ahead to next year, the better. Hopefully Mini is the fresh set of eyes we need to improve.

Also lol @ WoodCOCK and the west - embarrassed on a big footy story on their own turf yet again. What a joke of a paper

On the one hand I'm excited about our new coach and direction.

On the other I'm well pissed at the club for texting me at 7am on school holidays when I'm a parent trying to sleep in.

Let us know how that goes chief.

Looks like someone might be ending up on a watchlist...

Can't say he was my preference or who I expected, but he's got my full backing (until we lose in round 1 in which case fold the club). Looks a bit too much like the Youi man for my liking.

In all seriousness, go well Andrew. I hope you're the man who can bring some joy back to our club.
