Well I didn't see much of the game, but the scorecard says enough. Congrats to Neitz for becoming the highest goal-scorer for the Melbourne Football Club ever. Gives it his all week in and out and seemed to answer his critics tonight. Its strange how "out of luck with the Media" KPP opposition seem to come into form against Hawthorn. :o :(

Anyhow, i've seen good stuff from players like Davey and Robertson for you guys and I reckon you guys could be a real shot at the flag this year.

Cheers,

Philhawk :thumbsu:

Onya, ph. I dont think many hawks fans should take this game too seriously. You've got a good young list who should win a number of games this season, but also with a young list there are going to be bad losses like this tonight, its just a matter of them learning something from it.
4-4 so far, you'd have been happy with before the season started.

The Hawks made the mistake tonight of trying to replicate what they did to us last year. Thankfully, we've matured a lot since then, and were able to not get distracted by their pathetic attempts at turning the game into a wrestling match.

Having said that, with players like Mitchell and of course Hodge, you can build a damn good team. Williams up forward is a gun, Croad is going ok this season and you got some promising kids.
Everything begins and ends with the midfield, and yours is right up there, so don't fret.

Well done, melbourne are proving to be a potential top side. The team is playing well for each other and probably the most promising fact is theres more improvement left. I do have a soft spot for the dees, i think bruce is close to the best player in the AFL, but some of the young guys incl. dunn and bate look super impressive, jamar, maloney and carroll are paying the coach back for his patience and bruce, white, johnstone and yze are playing as well as ever. Sylvia, Robertson (injury preventing best form) and wheatley still to play (or in robbos case hit top flight) from tonight so good luck and enjoy watching your progress until you play the lions.

Cheers phil. Hawks will be a very good side in a few years anyway, as with players like Hodge and Mitchell and Williams you can build a very good side.

Yeppa they will be. Roughhead killed Miller last night, i don't blame the kid for being mad when they weren't giving it to him. He is going to be a good player as well.

Well done

Good win last night guys.

Heaps of trolling going on the main board so figured i'd post here. The Dees look a much more complete unit this year. The inclusion of Pickett has really given you a hard edge that has been missing for some time. Compliments your running midfielders well.

Reckon you'll be thereabouts in Septembers and not just making up the numbers this time.

Re: Well done

Cheers. The thing about last night was that Hawthorn tried the exact same tactics as they did in 2005 Rd 8 (agressive, in particular trying to expose Davey again), except this time we weren't rattled and let our football do the talking.
