Lappin's contribution to the success of the Lions has been seriously underestimated by the general football public. If he played for a Melbourne based club his public profile would be much greater, which is probably the reason he enjoys Brisbane so much. To perform consistantly at such a high level over 250 games is the sign of a champion. Nigel Lappin we salute you.

It's a shame some other clubs supporters don't have things like this as prerequisite before deeming their up and coming players who have played a handful of games/at most a season or two champions, god I'm getting sick of all the tripe about Ball, Judd and Hodge.

To be fair, most Bears people had Vossy labelled as a champion after he won the Brownlow in 96 and he was 21-22yo. The definition of a champion is a blurry one.

But Nige is a champion in every sense of the word and a tough bugger to boot.
