Infact some large buildings in london have now been evacuated and it was just reported that heathrow airport was being evacuated too.
New york, washington, london, tokyo, geez glad we don't live anywhere like that.

I'm scared too!
Even though Australia's small fries on the international scene compared with the likes of the USA, UK, Germany, Japan, etc. We still are very close allies with America and follow most of the decisions America make. If these people hate America enough to do this, killing hundreds of innocent lives, it's not beyond the question that attacks could occur in London, Paris, Tokyo, possibly Sydney or Canberra.
After seeing tonight's sickening events, anything is possible!

Mantis I wish I could - but he is at mum's place!
But I already hauled her butt out of bed an hour ago and told her to go and hug him for me, then turn on the tv to see the world has gone crazy.
It certainly makes any problems in our lives pale in significance in the grand scheme of things.

Its very weird to look at the Western Worlds biggest power be brought to its knees in the space of an hour. I feel terribly helpless and i am very glad that it has been a while since any new attacks or explosions. Whoever is responcible is as good as dead.
Ive been watching it for hours now and am still in shock...just think of what New York will look like now?? Its hard to imagine?
Oh just as i was typing this we got news of a press conference with President Bush. "We will hunt down and punish those responcible" Wow he looks like a thousand emotions are tearing through him at once. Anger i assume at the top of the list.

Im very worried indeed.
I will not be going into the city at all and stayin away from and government areas.
With what has already happened.... Im scarred that there may be an attack in Australia and been tryin too contact friends interstate too just talk too them.

Bush is a very unstable man. Just remember, he is an advocate for war. He has/is about to approve an increase in the US military budget and has always said he will take a much tougher military stance then his predecessors.
A few years back there was actually concern about him becoming president, as americans believed he could take the US into an unnecessary war against Iraq. Now he has a reason to attack the people/organization/country responsible.
Damn scary stuff.
I just received an email from my workmate in New York...he is OK as he was working in Jersey for the day. His wife however actually SAW the 2nd plane hit the Trade Centre...and saw it collapse, as their apartment is just 6 blocks from it.
Apparently our office (a block away) has had all its windows blown out and some people may be injured from falling debris, but they were evacuated. However two of our biggest clients were in the Trade Centre (it was our office until 1993, they moved after the bombing) so they haven't accounted for all the people he works with yet.
He hasn't been able to meet up with his wife yet, but she is safe somewhere. She was on the phone to her mother when the building collapsed - she was near hysterical.
Reading this email has made it all hit home to me- he talks of walking past there every day, and how he was standing there 2 hours before it happened.
