May I post in your forum?
Well played Bombers, you had 3 quarters of good footy to our two, and weren't exactly sweating blood with that win.
I thought we had an advantage in the ruck for a while, and McGough gave things a shake too, but the quality long kicking from Essendon (especially out of defence) punished even when we did get some centre breaks.
Lloyd Lucas and Rioli were excellent, especially roly-poly. Don't ever put him on a diet, he's exactly right now.
Good to see Hird take the medal, a fine performance. I wasn't happy with the booing, although I must admit to a little barracking ("you sure got your $20,000 worth Jimmy" etc).
The umps were pretty poor, but it cut both ways. I thought they were inconsistant on calls for tripping, in-the-back etc, but the two stinkers were Rioli's 30 metre run without a bounce and the mark not paid in Essendon's goalsquare (I think it was Lucas).
Definitley the better side won, I hope we can improve to make the next one a contest.
