Well Francou was lucky to get off beacause an AFL umpire doesn't know the difference between a push and a strike but I would say its more than likely Meady will get a match or 2 even though I haven't seen the incident.

I remember the last time Meady got reported in that State game for striking. I forget who the player was but the amusing thing was Meadys initial contact was to the body but his arm slip up to the players head because of the wet slippery conditions and he still got a match.

The only good thing is we are playing the Crows this week who don't really have any dominant tall forwards. The bad thing is if Meady gets 2 weeks then it will be a huge problem the week after when we play the Saints who are full of tall marking fowards. Anway I hope by some miricle Meady get off his charge tonight but that might be some wishful thinking on my behave.

Look I can't recall seeing anything resembling a trip - does anyone know when this was supposed to have happened?

I would have thought that the treacherous conditions of the Coronial surface ought to make a good case for some other implausible explanation involving momentum, balance and any other bullshit we can come up with. Worked for Brisbane. Hell, if a bump now involves raising the elbow for protection, surely sticking the leg out to avoid going arse up might be worth a try.
