As everyone knows Ablett may/will miss a couple of games or the rest of the season, we won't know till later in the week, so I thought I'd start this thread.

There is plenty of opinions/articles out there, but it seems he will miss at least 4-6.

"INJURED Gold Coast skipper Gary Ablett is remaining upbeat about his immediate AFL future after meeting with leading surgeon Greg Hoy in Melbourne.
Emerging from an early-morning appointment with the specialist today, Ablett said he was still unsure whether he needed surgery on his dislocated shoulder.
“Hopefully I’ve got an answer by the end of today,” he said.
“Just playing the waiting game."

So, what are coaches here planning to do, do we trade now or hold off till closer to the SC finals ( hoping he's back for rnd 20)?

My situation currently is 5 trades & 510K in the bank with Shenton & Ambrose to upgrade, so I might upgrade these first & wait to trade Ablett later.

Would like to hear peoples thoughts.

not sure, if i trade him out i need him to probably drop under 600k to be able to get him back with lack of trades and poor cash generating cows

With a current BE of 183 & a projected price drop of around 30K if he plays this week, if he doesn't return till the 1stor 2nd week of the finals, I can't see him dropping below 600K unless your sure your making the finals.

We'll just have to wait till we know whats going on with him :(

Most likely trading. Not prepared to take the chance of him reinjuring when he comes back. Will bleed too many points sitting on the pine.

Huge dilemma for those with spare trades, not me. I traded him out 1 year when he only missed a couple of games, the problem is the player you bring in, if they go well you'll want to keep them and off load your worst mid who is probably worth much less, if they don't go well they could lose you money and potentially cost you an extra trade to get Gazza back. There is also an issue if he just rests up for a few weeks and comes back he may not score as well and be managed through. The timing is terrible.

Will sure help anyone who didn't already have him.
About the only guy I trusted to score well each week.

Makes a nice emergency loophole and it still feels right leaving the C on him when your VC scores well
You're on drugs if you're planning on keep a 657k donut in your team all year..

This is what it feels like when I trade him out!

He was out of my team on Sunday nite even before the length of his injury.

Spewing it wasnt a 3-4 week injury and people had to make a decision

Crazy to consider keeping him, but that decision has been taken care of anyway.

Out for the rest of the season.
