Okay, here's my problem.
The other day my home computer conked out and the only way to fix it was to erase everything and start again. So, I lost all my data, including my whole Itunes library for my relatively new Ipod.
All those songs (only about 1,800) are currently still on my Ipod, while my Itunes library now is empty. Now recreating my old Itunes library of music from the various CD's that I have both borrowed and own, would be very hard and time consuming, while of course I've downloaded single tracks here and there, so it'd just take forever to replicate.
So is there any way I can transfer all my songs from the Ipod to the computer and Itunes? (Is that a stupid question?)
Basically, what I'd like to do is add more songs to my Ipod (a friend lent me a few of his CD's), but it's my understanding that unless I have my whole Itunes library restored on my comp, when I connect my Ipod up it will delete all the tracks I have on it currently and simply add those few CD's worth of tracks. In effect exchanging 1,800 songs for 20 or 30.
So what can I do? Am I screwed? I'm a bit of a novice, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
