Hello.
After mates advised me to sign up and play the AFL Dream team game, I decided to give it a shot and join a league. I must admit I am know addicted to it. Know I need help and advise my team is just not doing the job, not getting the points on the board. My scores have been averaging about 1600. Here is my team for round 6:

Backs: McMahon, Waters, Walker, Adcock, Gram, Koschitzke, Richards
Bench: Prestigiacomo, Rowe

Center: Judd, Scotland, Knights, Fiora, Rodan, Gibbs
Bench: N. Lappin, Browne

Rucks : C. Cloke, Darcy
Bench : Brogan, Ryder

Forwards: Cornes, Lucas, Franklin, Thomas, Fevola, Mooney, Betts
Bench: McDougall, Jetta

Trades left: 16 salary remaining: $98,000

What is wrong with my team?
What needs to be done eg trades etc?
Tips for choosing a successful Dream Team next year?

I need to get some wins on the board, otherwise I wont even make finals.

I know its a lot to ask for, but If someone could spare the time it would be much appreciated.

Thank you, cheers.

start n.lappin instead of fiora, rodan or gibbs. try and get rid of the players in bold. maybe get sandilands or mcintosh in the rucks.

maybe look at getting hall in your forwards as he is reasonably cheap for the quality of player that he is. maybe look at getting riewoldt in a couple of weeks as his price should drop a fair bit. possibly corey jones in a week or so, he can be a gun dt player.

dont go overboard on your trades as well, you will need some if you make the finals.

tips for next year:
next year dont start too many key backs like presti, you want players who
play loose in defence like cornes, mcphee, bowden, milburn, shaw, goddard etc.

choose cheap players for bench spots, eg j.selwood and r.hadley for this year

possibly look at cheap players coming back from injury if it looks like they will be fit and firing in the nab cup. eg possibly coughlan for next year

A good tip for next year as well is jump on the forum about a month or at least 3 weeks before dream team starts. Everyone is picking teams, comparing players, analysing each others teams, talking about cash cows etc etc youll learn alot and get off to a really good start. Its alot of fun as well:) :thumbsu:

When you create a new team you go into a league with other people who have just created a team. My mates wanted to do DT so I made another team to join up with them.

my bad. then its a good team. Petterd and selwood will need to be upgraded or moved to the bench. other than that, its prob the best team i've seen for a first year player

much easier to create a great team 3-4 weeks into the season when sleeper players have emerged, players form can be assessed and any changes to a player's role within a team eg. joel bowden.

true, but cash cows harder to come by, but is a good point

yea just choose the highest averaging players, some of them are cheap too
