i know a few others started a debate within another thread, but i thought it was worth its own thread. With Hall out, and the 'team' playing well, it seemed he almost creates a psychological team barrier when hes in the team, which is weird, cos he's such a force. Leaving him out probably shouldnt happen, but geez, it makes you think doesnt it.

The forward line so much more open yesterday. Im wondering if that is because the swans throw as many crumbers down there to get Hall's dropped marks when he is playing but yesterday with the trio having great hands and taking decent marks they didnt need to be hanging around hence making space for major leads.
Sounds crazy but in the after match function Adam spencer asked roosy where he would play hall next week and could he play down back. Yes it was all in jest but perhaps they do need to play him up the ground and keep the space up forward.

begs the question: did we function up front because Hally wasnt there, or would they have played that well anyway. If they had've played poorly, we would have said, well, no Hally, no fire power. They are not gonna change it up too much at this end of the season, so lets just hope that when Hally does come back, he doesnt create the big bad cloud over himself, which seems to effect the rest of the team. he hasnt seemed happy all year. Its almost like when he's not there, everyone can relax a little and breathe. he just gets so serious.

As so many have said in the past, we just can't be too Hall focused. We've gotta honour ROK and Davis' leads. They are both good marks and great kicks (especially Davo). So many times you see Hall with 2 guys on him and Davis free, who do you think they go to? Hall every single time. It's frustrating.

It also helped yesterday that we moved the footy into the forward line at a decent pace, which leaves our forwards 1-on-1. If we move the ball that quickly into the forward line when Hall is playing, it may not allow teams to get a second man across to blanket him.

I wonder if you could chuck him on a wing or something? Probably could at the SCG but not so much at the bigger grounds.
