I think there a couple of things the Dream Team can do to improve - I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts on the following...
Firstly - the new subs rule is far too tight. Requiring the subs to be in the same category as the injured player is not realistic - especially when you have 4 categories and only 3 subs!
Coupled with the fact that in round 1 we had to select our squad on Thursday BEFORE the other 14 teams were announced - meaning we had no idea which of the rookies would actually play (according to each clubs' thinking). This meant guess work. The only way last year's rule could be exploited was to select 1 sub (say a high scoring midfielder) who would play and one player (say a low scoring defender) who wouldn't. But doing this was a risk because if anyone else got injured you were caught short! I thought there was no need to tighten this rule.
Secondly - the system gives far too much advantage for those who don't select a team until the end of round 2 (both league and weekly prize) - they can see who's playing and scoring and select a powerful squad before the prices rise. There seems to be no reward to selecting your team for round 1 other than the remote chance of winning the overall comp
Finally - a point on initial player values - from what I can see they were valued from their average score per game from last year. I think things such as missing games through injury and suspension should be taken into account - surely someone who averaged 90 points a game but missed 6 games through suspended/injury is more of a risk and is not as valuable as a player who averaged 90 across all 22 rounds.
Any feedback appreciated
