I used to work next door at the aqautic centre. I reckon it probably shut down about 10 or 12 years ago. The slides were dismantled and I was led to believe that they were going to be re used in a country location.

Is that parcel of land still vacant?

Marion pool still has a slide for the kids.

Its still sitting there as it was. There are alot of listings for it on the internet still. I cant believe they havent done anything with the land there in all this time. The slides are partially still there and tower is still there, surely it wouldnt have costed that much for it to be open dunno why whoever owns it hasnt tried to do anything with it.

Hands up who never slipped arse up on the path or stub their toe on the stairs even ONCE ?? ;)

( Cept for the one that came out closest to the beach , had a doozy of a final bend  )
Remember linking up a 4 man chain halfway down one of the other slides and bashing my funny bone........wasn't funny

Been a while , but i seem to remember GREENHILLS having a cool slide.

They were great infact my mate and I were talking about them the other day and trying to remember the names of the slides eventually we were both pretty sure that they were called The Hurricane (also referred to as the SAFM slide), the twister, the slipstream and Montezuma's Revenge.

I'm pretty sure my mates & I were the last customers there. We were the only people there on a Saturday and the lady was such a bitch to us the whole time. So, one of my mates, whom I no longer associate with, although nonetheless a stellar bloke, took a crap down one of the slides as we left. Memories. It isn't exactly an attractive piece of land cos its so small and largely disconnected from the rest of Colonnades. Someone will grab it eventually I imagine though with the way development is going down there.
