Where was the crowd?

For Saturday night's match V Geelong, the official attendence was noted as 34 274 (source: today's C-Mail).

It looked a lot more to me, given that 41K is the capacity and that by my reckoning only 8 corprate boxes on the Stanley St side were unattended. At season's beginning the number was double that.

Are official figures rubbery? (or is my capacity to estimate diminishing with age)

Pretty sure the official 41,000 capacity was before the screen went up in the grandstand at the Primary School end. That would cost a few.

That being said, it did look pretty full.

Would rather being talking about the figure looking smaller than people bagging us out for overstating crowds like some other codes have been accused of in the past.

Looked about the same as the Collingwood match - and the posted crowd was duly similar.

Gaping holes in the BCG members' reserve. Other than that, just the odd scattered empty seat.

Ya I thought it looked more than that stated crowd figure. I did notice the BCG empty seats though.
