I'm a little surprised at the lack of anger and frustration here regarding how the saints are going.
Why aren't you guys venting your frustration at this season? Saints have had injuries, but their list should be able to cover it, and you should be shooting for a top 4 spot, not just going for the 8
No point just blaming Thomas..

Oh, that's right.. it's St Kilda we're talking about.. where mediocrity is tolerated

Your team is going so well that you hold the high moral ground eh?

Carlton are scum, they deserve to be last, and they deserve supporters like you.

grant thomas needs to go. also i think brent guerra needs to come into the side because he adds alot of grunt and that is what the saints have been lacking in recent weeks. maguire up forward has been a good move. also who was matching up on lucas? i didnt see. because whoever they were they killed him. but then they got killed by lloyd. need to trade for a quality ruckman in the off season. jeff white wanted to go there a couple of years ago. me being a demons supporter definately doesnt want him to go. but he may be an option. st kilda have alot of players that are expendable

I wasn't trying to troll .. just stating the facts based on history.

But, let me restate this - Carlton will win their 17th premiership before St Kilda wins their 2nd, and event though Carlton are where they are now, that statement shows the difference between the saints and the blues

Slurpstar ******** off to ur own faking chat room mate why do you need to come in here and try to stir s hyte we know we arent going as well as we can but it will turn around and guess wat we play u in round 15 so come back after that game if u win then slag us

Easy to look at other teams when carlton's season was already over rounds ago.. starting your preseason now.... great! maybe you can win the wizard cup and choke when its the real season again next year.

Having lived through many years of having crap coaches, I can guarantee you that Saints would not be in such a dire position if you had a good coach.

Imagine if Denis Pagan had your list to work with?

...and the facts based on history are that Carlton are serial cheats with no moral or ethical fibre whatsoever.

It is bold of you to state your opinion as a statement of fact.

I know you are wrong and I also know that my statement is as meaningless as yours.

The new Carlton have taken the place of the old St Kilda; perennial losers and a rabble - although St Kilda were in such a position due to poverty and the richer clubs poaching away their talent. Carlton are there due to incompetence and their own moral decrepitude. They have only themselves to blame. Never in the history of the league has a club imploded on such a scale and with any luck it is the first step in the eventual disintegration and dissolution of the club.

The new St Kilda are not anything like the old Carlton, except they will be perennial contenders.

We admire Carlton's history, just not the manner in which they gained those results.

Denis Pagan is yesterday's coach. He has an appalling record at Carlton, Grant Thomas easily holds the wood over him, both on win/loss and tactically.

You really should think about things before you write, have a think about Denis Pagan's record in games he has coached that did not contain Carey.

Now have a look at Thomas's record. He took over St Kilda when they had finished 16th and 15th in their previous two seasons. He has improved the club in so many ways. St Kilda are contenders again this year, as they were last year, and as they will be next year and for several years to come yet.

You can't compare the list Denis Pagan is working with at Carlton to that which GT is working with at Saints.

I am sure Pagan would have Saints as a real contender.

Terry, you may be sure that Pagan would have Saints as a real contender, but the Saints would never have him.
The St Kilda motto is forteus quo fidelius (strength through loyalty).
Denis has already shown that his loyalty is directed towards his wallet, and despite my assertion that he is just an ordinary coach with a good reputation, his low loyalty factor alone would assure he never held the reigns at St Kilda.

Denis Pagan's time at Arden Street was up. He fully realised this and knew it was time to move on, unlike others who will hang around like a stench forever milking their place in history - for example Sheedy.

Anyway, what would you prefer - loyalty or a Flag?

See this is part of your problem. Loyalty and gaining a flag aren't mutually exclusive.
In fact it is more than likely the reverse is true.

(In a similar vein to hard work and results).

StKildonan,

Premierships won by Carlton - 16
Premierships win By Stk - 1

Wooden Spoons won by Carlton - 1
Wooden Spoons won by Stk - plenty, most in the league.

That is all

I'm a Carlton fan and even I find that statement laughable and highly unlikely. We're at least 5 maybe 10 years away from another flag and the Saints will certainly win one or two in the next 5 or so years.
We have nothing to boast about at the moment .
