Which has the better DVD player?

I'm just wondering which of PS2 or X Box has the better DVD player?

As I don't already have a DVD player this add-on for whichever game system I choose is a real bonus, so I want to know which of the systems has a better one and why?

I'm really having trouble choosing which system I like and I think that this option will be able to make up my mind, depending on which one is better in this area.

I've got a PS2 and have never had a problem playing DVD's!

ALSO, you can get more/better games for the PS2 compaired to the Xbox!

BTW, i've also got a DVDROM in my computer and that works just as good!

Xbox is a tad better i think. It has a 5X drive and has movie playback, which im pretty sure PS2 doesnt. You probably pay for this a bit though.

Yes i have them both.

The Xbox dvd player seems to look and sound a bit nicer, and the remote is cool and easier to use as well.

But the Panasonic Gamecube craps on them both.

IGN did a comparision a month ago on the DVD capabilites of the PS2 and Xbox. Click here for the article if you have their insider.
The PS2 came out on top overall.
The categories were:
Features: Tie
Remotes: PS2
Picture Quality: PS2 by a hair
Compatibility: Xbox
Overall: PS2

But really in my opinion it's just down to personal choice on what you prefer........personally I'll just stick to my proper DVD player
