Whirlpool gets sued!

Whirlpool founder Simon Wright is being sued by accounting software firm 2Clix Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 118 044 198) for alleged "injurious falsehood".

This is the biggest rubbish I have ever seen in my forum ownership life. To break it down it's like Bigfooty getting sued by the Carlton Football Club because members stating that their club is crap. (There's no falsehood in that one lol). We should be allowed freedom of speech about topics in life.

Only because a number of users said their accounting program was bad is the reason Whirlpool is beng sued. They should have a good look in Bay 13 with the Port/Crows thread to understand what real insults are...

Disgrace. That site is great for people who don't know much about their Internet (IE. me). If those pieces of shit win then there is no justice in our civil justice system.

What about the flipside? If they lose does it mean forums not having to be so precious? Ie. could BF not have to be so touchy about unfounded criticisms of players/clubs if it's shown the forum owner isn't responsible for those on it.

Hopefully they lose. Then the BF should be on the implications of the result like a Hawk

They sound like a reasonably new company that didn't do their research on Whirlpool.
