I love it

It should be are new away jumper IMO instead of that ugly other one

We seem to play reasonably well in it aswell

A lot of people dont agree with you.

Ive like it from the first time it went on display.

It markets Freo. The anchor.

We are marketable. Our board knows it. Our marketability scares the shoot out other teams.

Considering our win loss record from our inception the rest of the footy supporters cant figure out why Freo keeps increasing membership. imagine how big we will be once we get our first generation of youngsters comming along.

To plain, looks gay, NO RED OR GREEN.
Sydney added more red to their jumper in 1992 because it was coincided to PLAIN!!!

But if they keep playing like they did today, I couldn't give a fat rats clacker if they played in their pyjama's.

Thanks for the link. Now in my Favs.

I agree without the colours it can look a bit plain. But I really beleive our future rests with our anchor logo and the colour purple.

The good thing is we also have a bit of a monopoly with green as well.

I've always liked white, and I love the purple and white striped socks. Irrelevent, perhaps, but it reminds me of that witch in The Wizard of Oz who gets crushed by the house and her legs shrivel up.
As long as they keep their current Home jumper with the green and red, then I'm happy with what they wear away.

It reminds me of that heritage jumper from the 1 pt win against the Kangaroos...

Seriously, I think it's good. Understated, but still clearly Freo.

Don't mess with the home strip though.

I would prefer the purple jumper, white anchor full time on all our away games. The purple jumper is not good enough once a year in the 'purple haze' game.

But the new jumper is still way better than the old one

Plain is good because it's recognisable. Just about all the best and most recognisable sports teams in the world have plain uniforms.
Manchester United. All Red.
The All Blacks.
New York Yankees. The blue pinstripes.
Chicago Bulls. Plain Black and Red.
Real Madrid. All white.

Home: Purple with white anchor.
Away: White with purple anchor. With purple shorts.
Supporters: The purple army.

Yep. It absolutely sh*ts all over our normal 'away' jumper.

error, apart from heritage/tradition etc, whats wrong with not having red and green? The three colours (red/green/purple) look absolutely terrible together. That and the fact that purple is, like it or not, Freo's colour.

I will never win this discussion on Bigfoot and I respect that my fellow Dockers have different option to mine. How ever, since you have asked Droppo, I will try to explain my opposition to the "clash Guernsey"

To the 18,456 people who signed up as members in 1995 and others who decided to support the Dockers, the colours and the song were accepted as part of the parcel.

Not everyone was sold on the original away strip, but it was ours. We didn't care that the media voted our song and colours as the worst in the AFL, they were our crappy colours/song and we wore that title like a crown.

Now johnny come lately decides he doesn't like red and green in our Guernsey and decides to change it. To many who survived all the ridicule from 1995 - 2001, it's a kick in the teeth.

It's like, lets wipe the slate clean, forget the past like it never happened, lets get a new young crowd in and start all over again, sell this new product to the corporate world and become rich and successful like the eagles.

Who gave the new admin/supporters a mandate to delete 2 colours from our Guernsey and turn us into a eagle clone.

What a load of crap. I was one of the 18,456, and since 1995 we've developed a culture. And part of that culture is being purple. Embrace it.

Well said error.

Bit harsh bringing the toast into it though.

But understandable to use the strongest and most hated 5 letter word known to mankind (err here anyway) to promote your opinion. :D

I have a belief that we will see both strips at different times away depending on our opposition and possible colour clashes.

I would hope other teams respect our use of different strips when we play away and repay us by ensuring they have a strip that will not clash with our home strip when playing on our home ground.

Rob's points were valid and have merit.

I have made my position clear in other posts.

I agree with the points about leaving the jumper as it is. I actually quite liked our original "green" away jumper from the early years. But some of the away jumpers which followed it were absolute shockers.
I really haven't been a big fan of http://www.angelfire.com/ok/fbtmisc/images/freoaw2.gif
Though our current away jumper is alright, I'm pretty happy with the white jumper. As most people have said, it would be better with purple shorts just so that it's not that plain. I also don't mind the purple Haze jumper, but that could not really be considered as a viable option because it would clash with other jumpers more than our current away strip.

Perhaps rather than adopting it as our away strip, we should just keep it as our clash strip.

Why is everyone getting so heated up about a jumper? Everyone is allowed to like what they like but when it comes down to it, it is just a piece of material.

I couldn't care what they wear as long as they put in an effort.

As a side note, Was that the first win we have had in the white job?

Well, unless you include the preseason againt Hawthorn, then yeh, I think it is the first time they've won in the white jumper.

I was merely referring to error and rob's little spat in my previous post
eg: nob jockey
