Heard it was all a bit shit tonight, apparently on account of less government funding than previous years. Still, it kept my pub nice and quietish for a Saturday night

Average night. Did the government cut their budget because there wasn't much on besides people walking around the city aimlessly

Was average at best. People who think this is a good event should check out Vivid in sydney. Makes white night seem like a year 8 art project. Cant see white night coming back next year

I would be very surprised if whitenight comes back next year. It's not worth the money the government spends on this.

I believe Singapore holds a great night festival. I can't think of the name at the moment

Main issues with white night is that its predominantly on one street that is already narrow and gets clogged up on a monday-friday basis. The art itself is cool, but if you're not really into it there isn't much more, why not more interactive activities? As others have mentioned the government has really stripped back funding and wont be surprised if its scaled back/ scrapped.

Yes, I do think they need to add more interactive activities across the city rather than rely on the light projections to be the only spectacle. Perhaps they could spread the whitenight event over 2-3 days.

Singapore Night Festival sounds like a fun event.


For two weekends every August, the Singapore Night Festival transforms the Bras Basah/Bugis heritage precinct into a midsummer’s celebration of sorts.

Zero in on Armenian Street, which becomes a pedestrian-only area during the festival. This nocturnal extravaganza happens elsewhere around the city too, stretching all the way to CHIJMES and Raffles City on one side, and Plaza Singapura on the other.
