thought he started the year quite well and was missed when injured.

could see him having value at a St Kilda.

Not very much value, though.

I have no idea what is his best spot. Yeah, move him on

Nothing left in the tank? Houli had Harvey in the first half so who was White running with? He had one decent smother and kicked a goal - that's it!
No matter which way you look at it he is a list clogger of the highest calibre.

Has gone backwards this year. Another nothing footballer with poor decision making skills and soft under pressure.

In trouble I'd say.

Did you see what transpired in the minutes leading up to that chase? You do realise he has had an interrupted season therefore lacking fitness?

He had a good start to the season before getting injured and did some excellent jobs on some very dangerous players, Yarran springs to mind. We have far more pressing issues than White at the moment.

I would be trading Jackson and using White as our designated tagger, starting his tagging apprenticeship this preseason. Sure he has his flaws, but he is super fast, hard at it and up until his injury had taken his fitness to a new level.
 
Reminds me of Clint Jones but with better disposal. He's outside the 22 and should be further out of it next year. Wouldn't hate to see him kept as depth but that would be it.

His start was OK, and yeah kept a couple of players quiet, but really doesn't add any value; can't mark, heart in mouth when he kicks, don't think I've ever seen him win a hard ball.

If lacking fitness, why was he out there?

I want Jckson gone also but White would not be in the best 22 of any other club ATM, except GC, GWS & maybe Port.
IMO he just should not be on the list.

Yep sadly I think his time is up.

The thing about White is that he does at least 1 thing a game of real quality that makes you think, this guy can play - eg that gather and pass from the pocket that set up a Martin goal yeasterday.

But he just doesn't do enough, and we've got so many other players who are rapidly going past him...

His start was better than ok, and his value was his ability to shut down the oppositions best running backs. Never seen him win a hard ball????? Now you are being silly.

Reagrding the fitness base? How many possible reasons do you want?

Was the next best option to play despite being underdone?
Still probably fitter than the next option?
The coach's like him?

My point is, not every player has to be a gun. Some players are there simply to play a specific role, I see White as one of those players.( I said the same thing during last pre season)

Come off it, the way Harvey ran away from White was absolutely embarrassing. It was that embarrassing I almost felt like crying for him.

White is a dud, list clogger.

You are kidding yourself if you dont think Harvey still does that every other week to far better players than White.

It was still embarrassing, he kept up with him for about 5 metres. :o The coaches are to blame for that match up but as a player Matt White is a joke of a player, his footy brain is limited, he panicks when under pressure, doesnt rack up enough possessions for the amount of game time he gets. He is a liability to the team.

Harvey is still quick

White is no good though, looked okay at the start of the year as a defensive forward, but seems to have lost the plot.

Need to get rid of mediocre players who will always be mediocre.

I feel a bit sorry for the bloke as he obviously gives everything he has but just hasnt found a way to relax into the game, forget about all the BS and just play footy.

I was in the rooms after a game last year, Matt had had a poor game and was completely distraught, he really takes it to heart and wants nothing more than to reward the tiger faithfull with some good performances.

Yesterday however was quite damning, there was one point in the game, 2nd qtr I think and Houli had the ball in the back half, was being forced out to his left where we had no numbers, M. White was the only Richmond player capable of providing an option, unfortunately for us he had no understanding of this and actually took off away from his opposition, running forwards of where Houli's kick would land to put himself 30m out of the play, his lack of understanding was so pronounced he actually ran away from where the ball was obviously going to go, and took himself out of the contest.

The amount of times his man just flies in 3rd up and takes an easy grab is damning too. All these errors are because he is unable to relax (or settle into a game), therefore panics when under any pressure and just cant make good decisions in that headspace.

I dont think its the end of the line for him, but tagger is the only role he could get now, has the required effort for it, its a matter of whether he can concentrate for that length of time and get fit enough.

Trade for any offer or keep him at Coburg in 2012.

At the very least he is a ready made body if we need depth sometime in the season. Obviously will only play if we are decimated by injuries though. He's not good, but he's not the worst player to have pulled on a Richmond jumper this year.
 
yeah he hasnt been great. but is definetly not our worst. i can understand why he cops this sort of criticsm but i dont get why other players dont... like there isnt much difference between white and edwards.......both do they ocassional good thing.....
