I'll preface this by saying I don't want to lose Warnock but wouldn't be peeved if he left to pursue greater opportunities. We do a disservice to the player and wear a hole in our salary cap at the same time.

No. We give a huge leg up to our hated rival, and weaken our own list. If he wants to walk, he goes to GWS, and we get good compensation.

Walk out to GWS and get what? A compensation pick at the end of the first round worth pick 20ish if others exercise their rights? This is one of the strongest drafts for 3 years and the prospect of getting a quality 10-year midfielder with the Magpies´ first pick (around 14) doesn't seem too bad a deal. You have to give up quality to get quality.
The only time that Kreuzer, Hampson and Warnock have been fit and in form at the same time is, NEVER.
Which is why you make a call on Casboult (who rucked during the NAB) and, as I said grab one of the Pies raw 20 year olds in exchange. I feel regardless of whether or 3 rucks stay, we should get a quality 18 year old ruck prospect to develop for the next phase of our dynasty for 2016.

On the trade table he is worth a top 10 pick at a minimum.
Good luck with that. I suspect no club in the league would pay that for a plodder with a history of injuries, however sublime his tapwork would be.

1. If he went to GWS, he'd be on a massive contract, so we should get better than an end of first rounder, ie a mid first rounder

2. Jolly went for picks 14 and 40 odd when he was 28. Warnock has a lot more upside.

Warnock owes the club. Signed on big money yet has missed too much footy. Unless of course, the price is right.

The Warnock signing (or otherwise) is going to be intriguing. A club can never have too many quality ruckmen....but he did come to Carlton to get more game time. Very few of us see him upsetting the rapidly improving combination of Kreuze and Hammer. He is fragile, what a conundrum for the coaches and recruiters. With Rowe able to pinch hit in the ruck, can see them letting Robbie go if he demands too much of the pie. There were a couple of highly touted young rucks not taken in last draft, a year on, there may be a 20 yo "almost ready" to be found as back up. Great to have a walk up starting 18 ruck in the wings, but at what price to us and his ego/ambitions?

Dropped is becoming the wrong word for this thread. Rested or rotated is hopefully going to be the scenario. Just don't tell Kade Simpson.

Army has been a revelation this season, but hard to see him being 100% on Saturday, a rest beckons. We have trumpeted a rotation policy, Curnow is working his butt off in an inside role, and has been seen labouring on occasions in the last couple of games. GWS game will see Juddy or Murph have a blow, that means other mids to rest elsewhere. With Brock banging the door down will not be surprised to see Ed rested (not dropped) this week. A list assessment is needed, McLean is more mobile and more confident this year, Brock just playing v GWS is not a realistic test.
Not shocking, but Lucas "not quite there" at some of the contests, can see Walker, perhaps sub (if fit) or Thornton slotting back in. Duigan in 21. Tuohy, Yarran or dare I say it Bower can play further up the ground. Collins and Ellard an outside chance. With Duigs back can't see Russell getting a gig despite an apparently improved effort for Northern.

If they rest Kade, we riot!

Murphy too. Going for the Charlie this year. :D

reckon they will rest them both at the same time?

While it looks good now, reckon the thinking will be different if (heaven forbid) Kreuzer or Hammer gets injured.
I agree and the chances is one will get injured it always happen. We traded Mark Porter and Matthew Allan started to get injured. The good thing is Robbie Warnock putting his hand up to stay and not demanding to be played or I am moving.
