OK apart form just needing to pretty much step onto the ground against Port in a Final to win it how will you guys beat our guys.

Personally I have no more expectations of Port in a finals game until they can start winning them. I can only see 2 possible outcomes though for the game:

A) Essendon win by upto 20 points
B) Port win by over 30 points.

This is because Port will either struggle again at Finals level and hang on close to Essendon, maybe come back at the Bombers after being down by 30 points... or Port will fire from the start and run all over the Bombers.

I think I would have rathered seen Fletcher play as well as Hird and Lloyd. With those rather out or in doubt Port might slightly relax again mentally which is a big NONO.

All the best guys... btw small crowd is tipped for the game with ticket sales very slow through the local booking agent. Apparently a number of people are deciding to buy tickets at the gate and save about $4 a ticket, but I am tipping below 30k, so if you guys want to travel over for the game you would be guarenteed a ticket at the gate.

Cheers, and all the best.

If Port can't beat Essendon this week, with no Fletcher, no Lloyd, and both Rioli and Hird under some sort of fitness doubt; it will simply be because they have no idea how to win a final.

If ever a team should be fired up and determined to redeem themselves, it's Port this week.

Cheers Scott. I can't see us winning after last week. As others have said, if Port can't win a final this week they never will.

Love to come over for the game, however my club's seniors are in the grannie the next day so I can't.

No No guys come on now don't pass the favourtism tag onto Port... every time we get that tag we let off several rounds into our feet.

I have heard how Sheeds has challenged other players like Blumfield and Heffernan to lift and prove they are worthy players... do you think they will or anyone else for that matter.

Also last week apparently Salmo played well and drew Gardiner away out of position. Do you think he will do the same this week?

Thanks

Possibly, though Primus is a different sort of ruckman to Gardiner - he tends to keep his feet on the ground and rely on body strength for position rather than springing over the opposition. Their clash will go a long way toward deciding who wins.

Sorry I was talking about around the ground ... apparently Salmon drew Gardiner away when he was either a kick behind play or running forward to provide an option.

lets just say i fear the worst :(
after my essendon top of the ladder prediction earlier in the year, i've learnt dont tip against windy...
but the coaching staff sound very, almost agressivley confident, so that gives me hope. They wont go down without a fight.
my head: port by 20 points
my heart: dons by 12 points

about the bris/port grand final - i had a mate with a similar port/brisbane grand final bet, he's a carlton supporter. He unplugged his television and was going to throw it off the top his appartement complex after collingwood won...
